Catholic university renews whites-only program for ‘analyzing whiteness’

Loyola University Chicago has chosen to renew a program limited to white students that appears to violate the Catholic school’s own nondiscrimination policy.

Ramblers Analyzing Whiteness started three years ago as an “affinity space on campus for self-identified White students” who yearn to “become anti-racist, anti-supremacist White allies.”

While Loyola is ostensibly a Catholic institution, it is controlled by Jesuits. Today’s Jesuits have devolved into an unspeakable cabal. Young boys cannot be trusted with them.

For about 10K less, you can send them to Gonzaga, which has a much better basketball team. Their baseball team isn't too shabby, either.

Spokane is a much safer place than Chicago, too.

Don't know about the indoctrination part, it's been 15 years since I've been on campus. I received a fine education there, one of the best decisions I ever made.

If my kid was juggling Loyola vs. Gonzaga, it’s the Zags hands down. I’d first do everything possible to try and convince him to become a master plumber or an electrician.

Good advice.

I had to have an electrician out yesterday to upgrade part of my electrical system for a new air conditioner: Cost $2,800.

I’d also advise master carpenter if the kid is artistic. One lives in the most expensive rental we own, drives a new red porsche and pays in cash six months in advance.

Can't say I disagree with you. I've tried to push my kids to University of Dallas, to no avail. It's a conservative Jesuit university about 15 minutes from our house. I love the small campus, and we attend Mass at their church several times a year. Gives me a chance to get my "Jesuit fix".

I also like going to St. Rita's for reconciliation, as most of the priests there are Jesuits, too.

I had only a few classes taught by Jesuits at Gonzaga, as I majored in accounting. I have fond memories of a philosophy class my senior year, where 12 of the 14 students were philosophy/theology majors studying for the priesthood. Although I was out of my element, it was a great class.

Up until Fr. Bob Spitzer left as President at GU, I was strongly pushing my kids to go there, and my wife was in agreement after visiting the campus. I probably told too many stories about the academic rigors there, and they heard the same rumors about UD: "my friends say you have to work too hard there."

My son is a graduate of Gonzaga ( MBA). He remains very conservative. He was very satisfied with his program.

Glad to hear it. I received a great education at GU, though I graduated many decades ago. Under the current President, Gonzaga has leaned more to the liberal side, undoing much of the good done by Fr. Bob Spitzer.

I'll always have a soft spot for my alma mater.

We’ve got Creighton University here locally, and they seem to do a great job producing some of the best dentists, pharmacists, and lawyers in the Midwest. St. John’s church on campus is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. I think it’s about $40k/year as well for undergrad tuition.

We'll be up in Omaha next year: the Zags have agreed to a home and home with Creighton.

I haven't been to a home game since I graduated in '76. Instead, we usually attend games that are within a day's drive of Dallas. Over the past several years, we've traveled to Wichita, Stillwater, SMU (lol...20 minutes from our house), Memphis, and Houston.

Last year, we spent a few days in Nashville when the Zags played Tennessee. It was the first time all three of my "boys" joined me...two sons and grandson.

If you can, get your hotel res in early, as they fill up quick / expensive downtown for game days. Also - don’t hesitate to grab a hotel out in west Omaha or even the Midtown Crossing area. One thing I love about this town is that it only takes about 20 minutes to get anywhere.
