The Haymaker collective is a self-defense project in Chicago.
Chicago, Illinois On June 11th, 2017 Unicorn Riot met members of the Haymaker collective, a new public facing anti-fascist and anti-racist project, on a beach in Chicago. The collectives goal is to further community self-defense.
They referred to their upcoming gym as a popular fitness and self-defense gym that will be donation based. While they told us their collective couldnt address all the self-defense needs of the city, they said they were already in conversations with queer & Muslim trainers who wanted to use the space to provide self-defense lessons to their communities.
After the work out, the participants looked tired, but were excited to have begun to learn self-defense. Kevin, who has only one leg, told us they were disabled and never thought theyd ever be able to join a gym, and that they looked forward to learning self-defense and then teaching other disabled people how to defend themselves.
Do not be drinking a beverage when the video starts, unless you like cleaning liquid spew off of your keyboard and display. You will not mistake this for BUD/S.
Morning belly laugh ping.
Someone more computer saavy please post the clip of Indiana Jones shooting the sword wielding rag-head.
I’ve been to Chicago many times in both good and bad areas. The people of concern definitely were not white fascists.

What will the organizers do when the Muslim trainers try to throw the queer trainers off the roof?
ugh
Hard to make a proper fist with a limp wrist...
They should be showing them how to properly swing a purse.
These guys would soil themselves if faced with that sword-wielder.
Everything I have seen in the last eight years indicates to me any anti-fascist or anti-racist movements are themselves, without exception, fascist, racist, or both.
No exceptions.
Hmmm, on the other hand (no pun intended) maybe making a fist comes naturally to some of these characters...
That’s a riot!
Ha ha!
