Life and civilizations aren’t the same thing. The Bible also says there was life in the form of plants and animals (which are living) before man. Perhaps we as people capable of questioning and attempting to comprehend are what’s exclusive, not necessarily ‘life’ as we currently understand it.
“Why have alien civilizations millions of years advanced beyond our own failed to make their presence known to Planet Earth.”
There are theories to explain it. Every single one of them is pure conjecture, because we only have one example so far.
Something older could kill any younger civilization that becomes noticeable.
The urge to explore could be a rare trait. There could be many old technically advanced races but they don’t have the urge to expand. Hard for us to imagine, but that might be a factor of being human as compared to something else.
Freegards
I understand that. However, if rather than being on the other side of the street he is on the other side of a valley, will you still be able to listen in with the same parabolic microphone?
Possibly, but as I said in the other post, it has to be pointed in the right direction and at the proper time.
To say that there are 2, 50 or even 90 billion alien civilization out there because it would be such a waste of space if there wasn’t any, is still mere speculation. I base My position on the fact that the Bible says that there are such and the inhabitants thereof are called the Angels and not ET’s
When Quark began to show hesitations about closing a deal which will kill millions in the ensuing war, Gaila drags him aside and says "look out there; billions & billions of stars and half of them willing to kill off the other half! If 1 or more of them goes out will anyone miss them? If someone offered you 1 million bars of Gold Plated Latium for weapons, would you refuse them?"
No you don’t, that’s absurd.
Trump’s fault, and Russia...
We are alone...
It is difficult to get your head around numbers that can be as incomprehensible as how many stars (suns) are in the heavens.
Years ago I went to a discussion about the possibility of life on other planets and in order to give us some idea of the vastness of space it was posited that there are more suns in the Universe then there are grains of sand on every beach on our planet. Keep in mind this doesn’t even take into account the planets that may surround many of the stars (suns) we see.
Using the laws of probability it seems very, very unlikely that among the unimaginable TRILLIONS of Suns in the Universe there would not be at least ONE having advanced life on one of its planets. If there is one then the likelihood of many more takes a giant leap.
BTW as a Christian I do not believe my belief is at odds with my belief in creationism.
“...have only been able to transmit a radio signal for around 100 years ...”
Assuming that radio is how everyone else communicates - See James Clerk Maxwell’s 200 field equations - if you can find an original copy. Out of those only 4 (converted from ‘abominations’ to vector equations by a self-taught mama’s boy) have brought all we know about the entire electromagnetic spectrum which includes radio (Einstein, Tesla, etc) ... everyone else (Non-Earth Peoples - NEP) has to have done exactly the same. And the chances of that are ...?
Time. Space is time. Linear time takes up immense space.
“We are alone”
We’ve been shunned by the universe. No decent species would have anything to do with us.
Jesus said, “In my Fathers House are many mansions, if this were not so I would have told you.”
Yes, God spoke about life on other planets, you should read the book not listen to others.
Anything is possible in God’s Universe. Likely we will never know unless He lets us in on the rest of His doings when we are with Him in Heaven.
Although your comment has much humor in it... it is something to consider. We can only hope if true, they are humble in nature and not looking to conquer...
Are there other civilizations...?
As a practicing Christian I go to the Bible for guidance. It states God created all things and is transcendent beyond time and space... it does not state such one way or the other... only that He is beyond our realm has always been. So IMHO, yes.
How God wishes to reveal himself to other beings is His choice... I am only concerned with our human state... for now.
The Truth Is Out There... Let’s keep searching!

LMBO... needed that.
Does Berkeley count?
