The "main attacker" in a brutal French Quarter robbery and beating has surrendered to New Orleans police, and officials urged three other suspects to do the same. Dejuan Paul, 21, a Kenner native who lives in New Orleans, turned himself in shortly after a Monday morning news conference (June 26) about the case, police said during an afternoon update outside of the Eighth District headquarters.
The Saturday night attack on two visitors from the Boston area involved four perpetrators and injured both victims, one critically, in the 200 block of Bienville Street. The victims were walking back to their hotel room when the attack occurred shortly before 9 p.m., Police Superintended Michael Harrison said. In surveillance video, one of the victims appears to get punched in the face and is left lying on the sidewalk as blood pools around him.

Good golly Miss Molly...you're right. Here's a placard from their website...
What????
“”A man wearing a plaid shirt and khaki skirt, along with a black leather cap and black glasses, used a knife to rob a Walgreens store in Gentilly...”
That’s just the way they roll in Gentilly.
"...a placard from their website..."
My husband was planning to take a grandchild or two to the museum - we went a few years back and enjoyed it but they have added some to it, if I’m not mistaken. That was our first visit since about 1985, when some homeless woman said “f*** you” to us when we were with our 4 year old. We had been there about 5 hours at that point. We didn’t spend the night but headed back to Florida.
Hate crime
“I and a number of senior staff were with Tim in the hospital last night, and others, including our chaplains, are with him now,” Frederick-Gray said. “Tims husband is en route to New Orleans from Boston. Our ... staff are profoundly shocked and filled with concern for their colleagues.”
First, they should not have been walking there.
Second, they allowed someone to run up behind them by a lack of situational awareness.
Third, they were unarmed.
Side note: That Swedish Bikini Team is wearing burkas by now.
My gosh, are they babbling idiots?
*** “but if you attack a tourist, they will go after you like you shot a cop” ***
Unless a Cop was the purp and in the 10 years I spent there I’d worry that the guy doing the hold-up might just be an out of Uniform NOLA PO, when he is in Uniform, no worries, you KNOW you are getting Robbed by the NOLA PD.
For the life of me I still ask “WHY?” Why would anyone want to go to that freaking racist hellhole, been gone for years and don’t miss it at all, I miss my Cajun buddies, Food, Fishing, Boating, Hunting and did I mention Food? But that was all at least 5 miles away from New Orleans. I Love Louisiana, it is an awesome place, just can’t stand New Orleans (there is/are places in Baton Rouge that are just as bad but it isn’t blatant in your face corruption)
NOPD also known as Not Out Problem Dude which is usually the response when you have to call the police.
Late 80’s I used to hang out at a dive bar in Upton. It was a real dive, great music, all night until 4:00 or 5:00 in the morning.
There was always two NOPD officers in the place and you could go to the bar and order any drink you wanted, and if your tipped well, they made the drinks really strong.
You could also order a gram or an 8-Ball from the bartender. It was all done right under the cop’s nose.
There was a bar over on Magazine by the Second District station where cops would go drink and drink in uniform and they were always the drunkest people in the bar.
Thanks for posting the video. The quality is good. However I still don’t see how they identify people from videos like that. I’m grateful that they have apparently identified them though.

Tim’s husband??? I want my flowers and my Get Well Soon card back, please.
#8. Albert Einstein he ain’t and never will be.
I hope one of his prison buddies gets him in “de john”.
I don’t believe that Robert Charles was involved in that mugging on Bienville.
As for Robert Charles, I have also spent many of summer nights on the front porch of a New Orleans home but for some reason I never have been questioned by the police for doing so.
Time to go on safari in New Orleans.Bag the big bucks.
That indeed USED to be the case. Apparently no longer true. NO's tourist trade will drop like the proverbial rock. And I suspect an exodus of businesses will accelerate.
