Noting says “mixed use” like an $800,000 condo overlooking a Safeway parking lot! :)
LOL...you’ve got that right! And that $800k gets you a studio here, to boot. Nothing like being equi-distant to Apple, Google, Facebook, et al to make housing “affordable.”
On the plus side, you can’t accumulate much crap on your journey through life.
I see this in Woodland Hills, CA (Los Angeles nearby) I go to Fry’s Electronics every so often and see what is in that photo except Safeway sign is replaced by Fry’s Electronics.
Very expensive area to rent.
A few blocks up the road they are replacing a Pratt & Whitney (former Boeing/Rockwell <-where the space rocket engines were built) with 4 million sq/ft of “mixed use” shopping and apartments. The apartments across from there already built look like something you house Japanese in as they are packed in. They are brightly painted several colors to catch the eye. It overlooks a bus stop parking lot.

at our local mall area there is now a large retirement complex overlooking the state’s main highway and the Target parking lot. Gotta tell you, those outa-state-ers know how to live!
I see more mixed uses happening. Brick and mortar is fading. Local large mall was just bought by a church. The neighboring Home Depot must be in heaven. These malls are going to be small cities in a few years.
