The rapid pace of change in American life does not exempt politics. Witness how fast Democrats are cycling through scapegoats.
First came Hillary Clinton. When she emerged to gripe about all the reasons she lost last year, except herself, party activists told her to be quiet and go away. She has, for now.
Next came Nancy Pelosi. When Republicans won four contested special elections for House seats, disgruntled Dems turned their fire on their minority leader, telling Pelosi it was time to get out of the way. She refuses, for now.
And now comes Barack Obama. The former president, shredding what was left of his promise not to interfere with his successor, is joining the fight against the repeal of ObamaCare. He called the Senate bill an example of meanness, and pledged to campaign for the Democrat in the Virginia governors race.
For Republicans, luck cant get much better. While Clinton and Pelosi were hardly innocent bystanders in the historic rout of Democrats at every level of government, the main culprit was Obama.
It was Obamaism, more than Clintonism or Pelosism, that elected Donald Trump and gave the GOP both houses of congress. The former presidents coercive liberalism at home and appeasement abroad led to the greatest upset in American politics.
His two biggest achievements, ObamaCare and the Iran nuclear deal, were sold on the backs of lies. President Trump is Obamas legacy.

And none of that is ever going to go back to normal. That ratchet just keeps on moving left, no matter how many reprieves we get to move it one step back. That will never catch us up when the left makes three steps forward.
I think the single biggest factor is that the dems just didn’t run a black man again. All you have to do is look at the minority turnout for Obama vs. Clinton and look at the margin of victory for Trump in the states he flipped. I don’t buy that Obama’s liberalism was too much for minorities or that it caused some massive turnout for general voters for Trump. Turnout was less than in 2008 and 2012.

Trump is a product of the opposite of every major player since Kennedy. He can’t be threatened, he can’t be controlled unless his own people do it, and he doesn’t care about political correctness unless it’s within a deal he wants to make. In other words, he doesn’t care what people think that are not on his wagon. And that’s what scares hell out of them.
So the only way they “think” they can control him is with the destruction of public opinion. And the only way to do that is to blatantly lie. And that they are doing in droves. (With nothing proven but a lot thrown in)
My only question is, “When are the conservatives going to say to hell with it, either put up or shut up?” It’s past time.

I agree. Trump won on the single biggest issue of the time; illegal immigration and also lopsided numbers of legal immigration taking good jobs from Americans.
Were there other issues he hit the right notes on? Yes; definitely. Will he take action on all of them? Probably not. He seems soft on the transgender overreach. People confused about their gender need mental health treatment; not being placated into thinking there's nothing wrong with them and forcing society as a whole to change for this .03% of the population. This is completely unreasonable.
Very much agree. This is what I was alluding to in my last post. President Trump seems soft on these LGBTxyz issues. I see it as a sickness in our society but the entire liberal left agenda is built on it.
It for sure is way overboard in the military. That needs to be reversed. Society as a whole will do what it will but the military is not some petri dish to do those kind of sick experiments with. Look at the low level of moral it has caused.
This all goes back to Bush 41, the RINO.
He abandoned what Reagan handed him and when Perot got into the 1992 Race we ended up with Bill Clinton.
The rest just snowballed from there.
Imagine a world with no Bush’s and no Clinton’s, it’s easy if you try.
“And none of that is ever going to go back to normal.”
The muslims may beg to differ. Eventually the battle will be between the leftists and the muslims.
Christians are too busy turning the other cheek.
