During what Salt Lake City police are calling rare "take-over style" robbery at a Quiznos restaurant Tuesday night, a female employee shot and wounded a female robbery suspect, prompting her two male accomplices to flee.

The female suspect, whose name was not immediately released, was in serious condition Wednesday at a hospital, said SLCPD Detective Greg Wilking, who said the suspect was hit in the neck.

Without a picture of the perp, we can’t say for certain that the neck wasn’t her center of mass.

Well done. What heels the “accomplices” are. But that is par for the course.

So proud of the young lady who defended not only herself but her fellow workers and any hapless customers.

But, what's quiznos policy on employees and firearms?

I am sure she can get another $9/hour job. She picked the right side of the risk/reward equation.

Extremely dangerous situation to be in. There have been other takeover situations where the employees are herded to the back of the store and killed. Glad she had a gun and used it with a nice outcome, else she could be dead.

A brother-in-law works at Walgreens, and is less than a year from retiring. Says black hoodlums are always coming in and pilfering stuff, and he at times gets into verbal shouting matches with them. Says store policy is to let them take stuff and not challenge them. I keep telling him just ignore the thieves, let it go because corporate doesn't care about him, and he needs to stay in the background until retiring. Says it bothers him. One time one black punk punched him in the head. Not worth it defending store items, but I'd certainly carry to defend myself as an employee, corporate be damned.

Did you read the posts? I’ve never seen such a bunch of cowardly sniveling people. Too cowardly to defend themselves while expecting someone else to do it for them. The bad part is these people want to run things.

The comments to the story? No, I didn’t. That’s pretty lame if they trend towards the perp.

Additional info Here:
“When officers arrived, we were also told there were shots fired,” Hudson said. “Once we got into the scene we noticed that one female was shot.

The woman was transported by ambulance to a local hospital in critical condition. Subsequent reports indicate she was shot in the neck and suffering paralysis. Her condition was upgraded to serious Wednesday.

Shot in the neck, paralysis? Not too good for her.

“Shot in the neck, paralysis? Not too good for her.”

I have far more pity for the long suffering taxpayer than I do for this miscreant.

True, true. Sux to be her. I see these “yutes” in wheelchairs on the streets. Presumably earned their wheels from their chosen line of work.

Even worse for quiznos. Lifetime of support? It’s been known to happen. After all, didn’t somebody in Ferguson just get a million and a half because of their thug kid?
