It’s funny how things actually turn up in history though, and this is practically bait for some deep digging leftist to suddenly discover a factoid and crow about how dumb these whities are.

My own view: Africa may have been handicapped more by internecine strife than by any lack of personal vision. It’s kind of hard to build a society when your neighbor is bent on wrecking yours because he hates you. Black slavery was easy because the tribes weren’t defending each other — they were fighting each other and would gladly deliver up their enemies du jour to the enterprising Arab slave dealers.

I.e. Darwin might have been a good zoologist and botanist. Anthropologist, I would differ about.

It’s easy to take Christianization for granted until it spectacularly fails. Oops, you mean we have to BELIEVE that stuff like we believe in the air? Well, yes.
