I could write a thesis in response to your question if I was motivated to do so,but this will have to suffice. I was educated, formally at school, and informally by family and friends, to be extremely skeptical of virtually every statement purporting to be factual regardless of the source, unless and until the truth of the statement is independently verified through other sources. Secondly, I was also taught to be extremely skeptical of the grandiose ideas of social visionaries. In other words, I am what many would characterize as a skeptic in that I tend to think in terms of the limitations of human knowledge, and generally rely on modes of inquiry that emphasize critical scrutiny, caution, and systematic doubt. The quest is always to discern with the maximum possible certainty that what is asserted to be true is real, and what is asserted to be real is true.
