After Kelly’s controversial and much-hyped interview with Alex Jones tanked by again failing to beat out reruns of 60 Minutes and America’s Funniest Home Videos, New York radio host Mark Simone tweeted on Monday that NBC is trying to unload Kelly and convince Fox News to take her back.
But a high-ranking Fox News source told Breitbart News that there is “no way” Kelly could come back to the network. Quite simply, the source told Breitbart News, Kelly “would not be welcomed back.”
Simone also suggested that if Kelly becomes more toxic and her ratings tank even more, “NBC will have to take her off the network,” and “if they are stuck with her, they’ll give her an MSNBC show.”
NBC reportedly invested nearly $20 million a year to bring Kelly to the network, and NBC’s investment has not paid any dividends at all. After her interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kelly was mocked for being way out of her league.
Her interview with Jones did not have any news value and may have damaged NBC’s and her reputation more than it helped.
Yet despite all of the hype, Kelly’s interview with Jones still flopped. 60 Minutes and America’s Funniest Home Videos reruns even beat Kelly’s show by nearly 40 percent in the coveted 18 to 49-year-old demographic, as Concha noted.
A television executive told CNN over the weekend that NBC’s “fundamental mistake” was thinking that Kelly was actually a “superstar.” NBC executives have already reportedly determined that viewers are not going to tune in to Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly just to watch Kelly and are “freaking out” over the “ratings disaster” that is Kelly.

Well gee whiz, she tried to take out President Trump in the first debate. More than half of the country have unshakable support for our President. Given those two facts, how does anyone conclude that she will be watched by enough people to justify that salary? They have broadcast dog shaming vids and done much better.

She THANKED Bill repeatedly when she first got her job there she was so thankful, THEN she became an arrogant WITCH and no one likes her anymore!!! She dressed like a hooker when interviewing Putin it was disgraceful!!!!! No sense of PROFESSIONALISM, none!!!!
Apparently NBC was convinced Kelly had “It”.

She kind of blew up her bridges to Fox News. NBC is stuck with her. Maybe they can team her up with Rachel Maddow?

How unfair is that’!
OK, three fourths of her questions to Putin were about his non-existent co-conspiracy with Trump to rig the 2016 election. In this environment anybody could make a mistake like that.
And I suppose people are going to pick on her for the idiotic choice she made in going for the Alex Jones interview. Yes, this was stupid.
I hear she believes that 17 intelligence agencies have certified that the DNC hacking was done by the the Russians. But, since CNN, NYT, WP, MSNBC, ABC, NBC and CBS also believe it, who can blame her. (Sorry Libs, it was just NSA, CIA and the FBI. And cherry picked personnel to boot).
And finally, don’t forget the $12 million investment she has made in that pretty face of hers. And that’s just through mid-2017. Can you imagine the bill she is going to have in 2018-2028?
Bottom line: NBC needs to keep her on. She needs the money and promises to be better prepared in the future. Plus, she is a good Lib and Libs take care of their own.

at the time NBC stupidly hired her, nearly everyone here predicted a ratings disaster for her at NBC.
We conservatives hate her guts because she sold us out long before she left for NBC, liberals hate her guts because she comes from FNC, and most of the rest of NBC’s regular viewership probably never heard of her in the first place.
She’ll be like Katie Couric, lurching from one ridiculously over-paid disaster after another until the slow-learning millennials in charge FINALLY realize she’s poison.
