Some of the top CEO’s of technology companies in America met with Donald Trump at the White House on Monday, praising him for hosting an afternoon summit on important tech issues.

“I’m absolutely convinced that during your administration there is going to be a huge explosion of new opportunities because of the platforms that are getting built in our industry,” Schmidt said to Trump after the meeting, as over a dozen CEOs went around the table to make comments after the meeting.

Schmidt said that the combination of entrepreneurs, skilled workers, and immigration would provide “huge” growth in the American economy.

“It’s going to happen soon during your leadership,” he predicted.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said he was pleased that Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and his daughter Ivanka Trump were bringing technology companies together in the Trump administration to help streamline government.

“The U.S. should have the most modern government in the world, and today it doesn’t,” he said, predicting that the tech innovations made in the Trump administration would pay back immensely in the future.

Cook also offered advice to Trump, suggesting that the federal government needs to be more focused on the people, which was not how it currently operated.

“The government should be focused on its citizens, and the services of the government should be measured on how pleased the citizens are with receiving its services,” he said.

Cook also told Trump that computer coding should be “a requirement” for public schools.

“We have a huge deficit in the skills that we need today, vs. the skills that are there,” he said.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos also praised Trump’s administration for forming the tech innovation council, telling Trump that his team could be the “innovation administration.”

Yeah, the liberal Democrat tech titans are pleased that the liberals and Democrats in Trump’s admin (led by Jivanka) are bringing them all together for some good crony capitalism.

And schmuck Schmidt’s supposed praise for Trump is no praise at all—our innovation and your boost in immigration—unless they are buttering Trump up for giving in to the Jivanka/Democrat position on immigration.

I’m surprised at the Tesla guy quitting.

Of that group, Elon Musk's businesses are the ones that cannot operate without direct government subsidies. Of course he would prefer the Democrat-corporatist way of doing business. Trump's changes would expose him, rather than helping him.

Then Apple should step up to the plate and do something about it.

School is out across the country. We have all these companies screaming “talent shortage.” Why haven’t these companies come up with some sort of summer boot camp for kids who might show promise in software development?

The answer is simple: There is no talent shortage.

Does it make sense to teach ‘coding,’ if the employers are going to ignore US candidates & give all the coding jobs to cheap Indian labor?

No Tommie. The “government” should be focused on PROTECTING the people. Government needs to get off our backs, queer.

Smart move! I think my 9th grade typing class was required for everyone. But I am not sure, but as I recall about half the class was male. As I said, my mom (smart woman) had me take a course during the summer, so I got a grade of A in that class.
In 7th grade the boys did wood shop and art; the girls did home ec and art; in the 8th grade the boys did metal work
and art and the girls did home ec and art.

I still have my cutting board from wood shop-I am taking it to my fiftieth high school reunion next month.
