This has nothing to do with terrorism. The statists have wanted to outlaw physical currency for a long time now.

Didn't see anything about sponsors/backers/timelines, etc. Until it materializes, it's just as good as fake news - not that long ago, there were all the rumors that they were going to take control of all our savings/IRAs, etc., and dole it out as they saw fit....

For now it's just gasoline looking for a fire to ignite.

No “Bearer” checks over $10K (checks made out to “Bearer” or “Cash”...no endorsement/ID needed, anyone can cash it).

Good luck tracking encrypted cryptocurrency wallet files Mr. FedGov...there are dozens of types out there besides Bitcoin and pretty much all of them are untraceable if the hash address is used only once.

That, I am quite sure, is the plan.

Thanks - I usually try to get info by reading the article, but this was nailed down by the post you referred me to. Not likely to get a veto-proof number of votes...

They might try to attach it to something they know won’t get vetoed. That’s what Bill Frist did with the bill to outlaw online poker using the same money laundering justification. He attached to the Port Security Act in the middle of the night (literally) the day before it was voted on.

The root password to the Constitution used to be "The War on Drugs". They've changed it to "Terrorism"

The usual suspects, plus a wannabe co-sponsored the bill. The asterisks indicate original(?) co-sponsor.

Sponsor: Sen. Grassley, Chuck [R-IA]
Sen. Feinstein, Dianne [D-CA]*
Sen. Cornyn, John [R-TX]*
Sen. Whitehouse, Sheldon [D-RI]*

Keep track of this at S-1241

“This has nothing to do with terrorism. The statists have wanted to outlaw physical currency for a long time now.”

Au contraire mes amigo, your Statists love terrorism, drug money launderers, etc as it helps them convince law abiding Americans like you and me to accept their new restrictive currency laws.

“The root password to the Constitution used to be “The War on Drugs”. They’ve changed it to “Terrorism” “

Yup. The War on Drugs successfully limited the amount of cash you and I can use without gov monitoring.

Meanwhile the Drug lords deal in unimaginable wads of cash with impunity.

Spot a trend?

True, it’s a good excuse, but not the real reason.

“That, I am quite sure, is the plan.”

Of course.

“Never let a crisis go to waste”

Write up the legislation/EO and have it ready to go when the gun attack, drug cash stash, hurricane, car crash etc., hits the headlines.

It’s the means towards the ends.
