This is worth repeating and also worth the ethics committee looking into whether there is a conflict of interest here?
I think Comey got immunity from Mueller for memo leak, Hillary handling of case, taping/recording President or anyone else.
Comey testified why he leaked the memo was to get a SPECIAL COUNSEL. Comey had been groomed on his testimony. FBI is never going to allow one of theirs to be prosecuted.
NO ONE asked him if he was given immunity when he gave his testimony.
Too bad Sessions didn’t read that as his statement eh?

True, but you realize all anyone's going to consider is the Lester Holt interview.
Not only that, they are going to construe the Holt interview in the most negative light possible.
What I have in mind is that "that Russian investigation" has at least three widely different meanings.
At any rate, I do agree with you. The press has been twisting innocent statements, jokes, and glib retorts into "evil." Fake news. It is what they do. Most dishonest people in the world.
Unfortunately, charitable interpretations of anything are pretty much out the window in our politics today.

And from that, the press claims Trump told Holt he was relieved the investigation was, would be, might be stopped. Liars they are. Bald-faced liars.
If you must involve the highest level of Government in our land, to investigate and resolve this... then we will.
