The apprehension of illegal border crossers by Border Patrol agents jumped 31 percent in May from the previous month. The jump follows a six-month decline in apprehensions after the election of President Donald Trump. The increase comes as Border Patrol agents report “catch and release” programs are quietly continuing.

So catch and release continues, DACA continues, the state department upped the Mid east refugee quota, and the current budget has no funds for building a wall.

Last month they were claiming a lack of air support from CBP Air and Marine, citing low flight hour totals from 2013-2015. During those years Border Patrol lobbied for a pay raise when the government was operating on a continuing resolution. CBPs only recourse was to rob money intensive operations (air) to make those pay raises happen. Even with funding restored, Border Patrol wants over two and a half times the flight hours support of the total AMO budget. It isn't going to happen even if BP does take over.
Mexico won't take OTMs. They have to be sent to their country of origin, so they have to have a hearing, but there is a long wait for the hearing because illegal otms are up.
They give them an order to appear on such and such a date for their hearing, then release them.
And the situation is worse because many of the OTMs are women and children and they have to be detained in a home like setting.
The underlying problem is that the hardliner immigration hawks want to spend more money for an "enforcement only" immigration policy and the budget hawks say no, enforcement only is too expensive.
So the GOPers are not planning spending more money on detention beds, courtrooms, judges etc. And they are not going to spend the money on a wall.
So did Trump Lie or did he put the wrong people in charge? Either way it needs to be fixed especially after all the fake propaganda about how much the border crossings had dropped.
DACA alone has nearly doubled and those kids get to bring over three generations of relatives.
Is there no one that can warn Trump about what is happening with his trusted employees in charge? Freepers get called #NeverTrumpers when they bring immigration up. As if that helps anything.
Ok, the only number we have here is arrests/apprehensions have RISEN 31%. Ni number of “releases.”

What troubles me more is Breitbart’s spin (again, without proof). BB in the last 2 months has made a sharp left. Not all writers-—my co-authot on “How Trump Won,” Joel Pollak and Neil Munro are good. But BB brought in Amanda House really to head the political side & she is mainstream fake news.
It concerns me, and the left for a month now has been concentrating fire on DT’s base seekkng to discourage them with stories about how Trunp is “really” not keeping his promises.

I'm sure a part of the problem is that as the new kid on the block he relys on advice from the old, experienced republican pols who are on his staff and sprinkled around DC.
But we all know how most of them are go-along-to-get-along types and very few will fight back.Br> They are always afraid to mix it up with democrats.
They will tell him to be cautious but that is the exact opposite of what got him elected. They always think the wolf at the door will go away if they are quiet and don't do anything to upset him even more.

Trump has been done in by his personnel choices across the board, starting with when he listened to Jared and brought in Priebus as CoS.
Since then, more GOPe traitors; liberal Democrat traitors; slow-walking and denial of appointments for actual Trump supporters; many positions un-nominated, almost five months in, and so Obama holdovers carrying out Obama policies across departments.
Having listened to the likes of Condi Rice and Ivanka Trump in bringing in cabinet members, such as Kelly, those cabinet members tend not to be with the actual Trump agenda and so they too undermine the president when they manage to get their own people in as well.
I’ve noticed that BB is doing that and I am very mad at them. I see a lot of entities - sites, and forum members here and elsewhere, trying to undermine Trump’s supporters, and it makes me disgusted.
Yes but those are figures covering April and not May.
