NEW YORK CITY — An increasingly vocal anti-Muslim activist group has kicked off protests in numerous cities across the country, marching in opposition to Islamic law, which the group believes is threatening American society.

ACT for America, a lobbyist organization with close ties to the Trump administration that has helped pass state-level bills targeting Islamic law and refugees, organized the protests as a nationwide “March Against Sharia.”

Just began reading the NBC News story about the marches and it made sure to begin with "Southern Poverty Law Center has designated" ACT as a "hate group".

I stopped reading right there.

VERY few things make a news agency lose credibility with me than using Southern Poverty Law Center as a resource for anything whatsoever. If there is a fake news factory, SPLC is it.

...helped pass state-level bills targeting Islamic law...

I would like WaPo to answer one question: do you think sharia law should be legal in the U.S.?

If not, then they, too, are against islamic law.

If they think it should, then they support FGM, throwing homos off of tall buildings, and cutting the throats of those with which they disagree....

Oh, and the weasely answer of, "It's OK for them, just not us", is segregationist!

Anti-Sharia = Anti-Muslim only if Islam is totalitarian.

I do wish this didn’t look so freelanced and separated from a Muslim incident.

A march is a great thing particularly when it as loud and clear, and a very forceful answer to an outrageous moment. (As when the Muslim gazillionaire decided to put up a MOSQUE across from the Trade Towers, or obnoxiously near by.) THAT deserved a nation wide march. There was none.

Something like that, was a *moment*. Spontaneous action to a moment looks more called for, bringing righteous anger to the fore, as an answer to the moment.

I say this because the Left is getting prepared to set Republicans up as bitter and bullying materialists, uncaring of the poor and the minorities and the “innocent”.

This event separated from a real crisis type of news moment plays into that, as if Democrats themselves were staging it to make Republicans out of the blue, look out of touch. Democrats can not do such a thing when a march is an immediate answer to an obvious threat perpetrated by Muslims.

I mean, it crossed my mind that it might look like, “Gee, the weather’s just great and I need some sun. Let’s pick a cause and march”.

Just sayin’.

Part of Oath of citizenship for USA:
“ 1. Support the Constitution;
2. Renounce and abjure absolutely and entirely all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which the applicant was before a subject or citizen;
3. Support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic;
4. Bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and
5. A. Bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; or
B. Perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; or
C. Perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law.”

So do Muslims when they take this oath deny Sharia Law as being superior to the Constitution? Maybe they should be asked this.
I guess being pro-constitution is now racist and Islamophobic.

And the marchers will be thrown in jail for a “hate crime”.

Yep-I was at Battleship Texas and even though they blared Mx music and shouted some illogical BS about hate we ploughed through and got a pretty good crowd. The highlight was the camaraderie only evidenced through patriotism via the Star Spangled Banner-WATCH

So do Muslims when they take this oath deny Sharia Law as being superior to the Constitution?

One problem: A true Christian believes God's Law is superior to the Constitution or any other of man's laws if they conflict. So they'd have to treat the oath the same way, decline or lie. The Muslim has a duty to lie for the advancement of Islam.

Islam is NOT a religion anyway; it is a totalitarian socio-political system disguised as a religion.
