WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House and its allies are scrambling for ways to offset potential damage from fired FBI Director James Comey’s highly anticipated congressional testimony, an appearance that could expose new details about his discussions with President Donald Trump about the federal investigation into Russia’s election meddling.
Asked about the testimony, Trump on Tuesday was tight-lipped: “I wish him luck,” he told reporters before a meeting with lawmakers.

They are pinning all their hopes on this disgraced incompetent pathological liar and expecting him to somehow take Trump down with a fake memo or something. Im afraid they are going to once again be very disappointed.

It is said nobody emerges from a fight with a skunk smelling like a rose, but it’s possible that Donald will break that rule.
There’s a reason why the Democrats started running around and backpedaling on all the impeachment talk immediately after the special counsel was appointed last month. They are probably scared to death over where this is likely to go.
I’d warn rightists not to be so cocky about their innate virtue and sanity either.
A number of them want to walk out on Donald if he doesn’t toe their line in the sand du jour. Even if such a situation was an actual error rather than a patience move on Donald’s part, we’re talking about the pessimist emptying out the entire half-empty glass with no thought as to what might replace it. The so called Club For Growth certainly can tell us about such Pyrrhic “victories.”
They were scared to death when their shield, James Comey, was fired. Trump wants real justice for these democrat criminals.
Somehow, anyhow, Donald just has to be toast.
Trouble for them is that Donald not only has Teflon like unto Ronald Reagan, but he heats the pan up hotter.
So, when Comey got sacked, he was in Los Angeles. I would think his office back in DC was sealed off and all items therein where transported over to the Attorney General’s office. So, how does Comey have the original notes he took of all these conversations? Or other material, for that matter.
Maybe Trump will fly Comey’s brother, Vincenzo, in from Sicily to sit in on the hearing.
As a Sicilian, that means he just put a carnation in his buttonhole.

It's very difficult to fire Federal workers so Trump is building a good, solid case and political cover for firing as many as possible for cause
I think Trump knows some of the questions that will be asked. Comey will have no choice other than perjury. imo

Trump knows more about what Comey will accomplish than probably even Comey suspects.
He may even have requested it- made a deal for it.
