Despite heavy lobbying from G7 leaders, President Donald Trump declined to endorse the Paris Climate Agreement in a joint pledge of support for one of former President Barack Obamas signature achievements in office.
Trumps decision upset world leaders like German Chancellor Angela Merkel, desperate to convince the president of the agreements merits.
The Paris deal isnt just any other deal. It is a key agreement that shapes todays globalization, Merkel said, describing discussions with Trump about climate change very unsatisfying.
For opponents of the agreement, the decision is a welcome development after the presidents economic adviser, Gary Cohn, told reporters that Trump was evolving on the issue. But it still was not a fulfillment of his campaign promise to withdraw the United States from the Paris agreement.
The president announced on Twitter that he would make the decision next week of whether to remain in the agreement.

Hallelujah, if true.
May I lick your salty tears, Frau Merkel?
Mad also in the sense the British use the word
Sounds promising but I won’t hold my breath. I’ve really gotten to dislike the word “globalization”. It reeks of open borders and lib speak.
The Paris deal isnt just any other deal. It is a key agreement that shapes todays globalization,...
Exactly. Meaning money from the US to 2 cent dictatorships or muslim countries for redistribution.
Zactly and just who would foot the majority of the bill ?
Not those theiving liars of NATO...
Oh great.
May I lick your salty tears, Frau Merkel?

Too funny!!!
Based on the photo in the article it also looks like Frau Merkel forgot to wear her Spanx (if you don’t know what that is, it’s basically a girdle that is similar to a sausage casing for smoothing out lumps and bumps).
Excellent! Need cartoon pic of the boss in Simpsons.
But it still was not a fulfillment of his campaign promise to withdraw the United States from the Paris agreement.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lots of unfulfilled promises.
The first one clearly broken was DACA.
Thomas Jefferson, had noted that foreigners do not understand the relationship of constitutionally limited power US federal government to the states.
"With respect to our State and federal governments, I do not think their relations correctly understood by foreigners. They generally suppose the former subordinate to the latter. But this is not the case. They are co-ordinate departments of one simple and integral whole." --Thomas Jefferson to John Cartwright, 1824.
And as evidenced by foreign leaders attempting to press Trumps buttons with respect to politically correct global warming, aka wealth vote redistribution, foreigners evidently still do not understand the constitutionally limited powers of US federal government.
So not only do US parents need to start making sure that theyre children are taught federal governments constitutionally limited powers as Founding States had intended for those powers to be understood, and noting that the ill-conceived 17th Amendment needs to be repealed, US presidents, senators and ambassadors to and and from the US need to be required to enlighten the leaders and other officials of foreign states about those limited powers.
In giving to the President and Senate a power to make treaties, the Constitution meant only to authorize them to carry into effect, by way of treaty, any powers they might constitutionally exercise. Thomas Jefferson: The Anas, 1793.
Surely the President and Senate cannot do by treaty what the whole government is interdicted from doing in any way. Thomas Jefferson: Parliamentary Manual, 1812 .
2. Insofar as Art. 2(11) of the Uniform Code of Military Justice provides for the military trial of civilian dependents accompanying the armed forces in foreign countries, it cannot be sustained as legislation which is "necessary and proper" to carry out obligations of the United States under international agreements made with those countries, since no agreement with a foreign nation can confer on Congress or any other branch of the Government power which is free from the restraints of the Constitution [emphasis added] . Reid v. Covert, 1956.
In fact, foreign powers should be comfortable in working with US senators and representatives in suggesting new constitutionally enumerated powers for the feds since the states can always refuse to ratify proposed amendments.
Sensitive issues which could pontentially compromise the constitutionally enumerated freedoms of US citizens would at least be discussed in the public square instead of in back rooms.
Insights welcome.
Global Warming on Free Republic here, here and here
Good, it should not be approved.
The climate change scam is nothing but a huge slush fund for the international left, funded in large part by the USA.
I sure hope this holds. Trump promised to get us out of BS “Accord”. Yet he has stalled while Ivanka’s gang have been pushing him to break his promise. I think we all need to contact the White House and let them know how important it is to us, the ones who elected him, that he keep this promise. To me it is one of the big ones. Very important.
Now you know he’s doing something right to piss of the German frau.
