Technically, I think it would be that the generals give the advice and he gives the consent :-) but given the escalation of tensions both in the eastern Mediterranean and the Sea of Japan, it would not be surprising.

Then you likely will see an all out clean the swamp effort. Bannon back as Lincoln’s General Grant. I expect attacks on multiple fronts.
Gosh, I hope so. I'm not comfortable with President Trump returning to the WH without the purge already happened, and the traitors and enablers being brought out in handcuffs. At this point, must of us loyal freepers could make a list of three to four people and ask "why are they not fired yet?".

One name little-mentioned (at least on FR) is John Kallstrom, a Marine and wiretapping expert. And dislikes Comey very much. Former head of New York FBI, has been quoted as calling the Clintons a “crime family.”
Tough sell in the Senate, but DT can put an Interim Director in place and slog it out for Kallstrom.
