'Game of Thrones' author George R.R. Martin compares Trump to King Joffrey
Washington Examiner ^ | May 24, 2017 | Meghana Kurup

The creator and one of the main stars of the hit HBO show "Game of Thrones" feel President Trump is a "petulant" child and called the president a "con artist."

"I think Joffrey is now the king in America," Martin told Esquire magazine, comparing Trump to the power-hungry young King Joffrey in the hit HBO series. "And he's grown up just as petulant and irrational as he was when he was 13 in the books."

Joffrey was one of the most hated villains in the series and was often referred to as sadistic, egotistical and a spoiled brat.

Martin had better not wear anything flammable. Trump is more like the biggest, meanest of the dragons ....

I’d compare Hillary to Renly

“Oh look at me I have the biggest Army, I’m gonna win right? Right? Let’s have a big party while I take my sweet time getting to King’s Landing! :)”

I like (book) Stannis too much to compare her to him. Though tv Stannis, I DO think she would sacrifice Chelsea to Satan in order to win.

No nobility in GoT?

No moral depravity in LotR?

What I think is discomfiting about GRRM’s work is that he more fully explores the depths of human depravity (some would he celebrates it) than does Tolkien.

I imagine that if Tolkien had chosen to spend a chapter or two providing a peek into Sauron’s (or Melkor’s, or the Haradrim’s) bedchamber activities, we would find them to be not much different than those of Ramsey or Cersei.

Wonder what it would look like and sound like with Sauron getting jiggy with a specially constructed female orc.

Ha - I’d rather not go THERE.

But you help make my point; Sauron would make Ramsey look like a greenhorn.

I gave up on GoT years ago; it’s just a long, pointless soap opera (with dragons).

I am micro-aggressed by this fantasy writer’s outrage.

Luckily the fainting couch was within staggering distance.

Martin and Stephen King are fantastic writers, but the politics in their heads are squarely stuck in the late ‘60s, early ‘70s. I’m amazed that both men can make characters breathe, and construct superb narratives, but when asked about their political bent seem to think they’re still in the metaphorical trenches, fighting a long-dead Nixon.

Life is better without any sort of pay TV...it just is...no addiction to shows, and you don’t help any liberal actors or execs.

Just unplug and cancel your subscription..you will live and your family will interact and communicate more...that is priceless...and you will have $ for other stuff.

OH, those of us who were involved in the Sad Puppies campaign know what a blathering sack of Obama GRRM is.

We simply compare him to Jabba the Hutt. . . and that, technically, is a grievous insult to Jabba. . .
