Skilled labor is based on 3-4 times the min. wage. Right now skilled labor is between $22 and $30 an hour. If Min. wage goes to $15, welder, fitters and other skilled labor will be between $50 and $70 an hour.

You are correct. Raise the minimum and the steps above have to go up also.

So a rising tide raises all boats, until all boats get swamped.

Just tie minimum wage increases to inflation and take the politics out of it.

Minimum wage doesn’t destroy the need for labor it causes inflation. The people on Free Republic sound like idiots when the talk like this. The discussion should be about inflation caused by minimum wage increases.

It will create inflation. It won’t decrease the demand for labor.

Raising the minimum wage makes it more likely that illegals will be hired rather than less. Americans pricing themselves out of a job.

Not if we build a wall and seal the borders. You are for that right?

Prices would sky rocket.

An increase in minimum wage over 8 years to $15/hr would be inflationary but not cause skyrocketing prices.

It will do both. Without an increase in the money supply, it will likely come out of demand or come via a change in demand (i.e. Automation).

You might want to rethink that inflation theory before you start hurling insults. Lol
