Last month Donald Trump spoke by phone with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and was widely criticized by members of both parties for inviting the strongman to meet with him in the White House.
The Intercept obtained a transcript of the call and is publishing it in full. On the call, Trump enthusiastically endorsed Dutertes murderous drug war and repeatedly addressed the possibility of a U.S. nuclear strike on North Korea. The transcript, which contains numerous typographical errors, is an official document of the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs. Well-placed sources at the Palace and the Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed its authenticity to reporters for the Philippine news outlet Rappler, which collaborated with The Intercept on this story.
The White House readout describes the call as a very friendly conversation:
President Donald J. Trump spoke today with President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines. It was a very friendly conversation, in which the two leaders discussed the concerns of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) regarding regional security, including the threat posed by North Korea. They also discussed the fact that the Philippine government is fighting very hard to rid its country of drugs, a scourge that affects many countries throughout the world. President Trump enjoyed the conversation and said that he is looking forward to visiting the Philippines in November to participate in the East Asia Summit and the U.S.-ASEAN Summit. President Trump also invited President Duterte to the White House to discuss the importance of the the United States-Philippines alliance, which is now heading in a very positive direction.
Here is the transcript:

We need Trump to become Clint Eastwood and put the fear of God into these treasonous bastards.
I cannot help but think all this leaking will backfire on the bureaucracy.
A grand argument is being made that a government that wants to try and destroy a presidential administration—even one you do not like—will easily do the same to you.
Americans are seeing the danger of a big government and a complicit big media. And Americans on all sides do not appreciate either.
The content is almost beside the point.
Someone (s) is deliberately, almost daily, leaking sensitive if not classified, information to form a picture of doubt and confusion in the mind of the :average” American about this president.
It’s outrageous and it baffles me no end why there hasn’t been a disciplined and vigorous effort to stop it from happening.
It’s evil and corrosive. It must be stopped.
Gonna be hard if the FBI is not helping.
I hope Duterte has good reason for this. There IS an Islam problem on parts of the Philippines. Needs to be stamped out.
Gee....what can we do to try and derail Trump’s amazing success around the world???? hmmmm, what can we do...?
That aside, the Duterte call shows Trump has the right idea. Drug dealers should be treated just like terrorists and terminated with extreme prejudice.
Indeed. It appears from my seat that parts, murky parts, of the swamp are growing.
Both successful (in each, their own right) not wanting to be President but forced by either the people (Duterte) or his own idealism/consciousness (Trump)
Both singularly focused on his country and both supported by the majority of their respective citizens.
I discount the anti-Trumpers as (perhaps/hopefully) temporary non citizens that will grow out of it when they reach thirty or get mugged.
You do realize that D.C., North V.A.,and Maryland voted around 95% for Hillary, right?
Trump would literally have to fire or incarcerate every Federal employee to stop the leaks ...
Nah, one and two at a time Trump is weeding them out, but it will take time. And every guy like Clarke we get will make it much faster.
Mulvaney is a gem.
This is their call from April.
And we know it is true because it was “leaked”?
And a lefty rag was willing to print it?
That is why there must be an investigation into the Democrats and Hillary’s ties with Russia. If Trump appoints Lieberman or McCabe as head of the FBI, he deserves what he will get - no help. He needs to appoint Rudy.
Disregard my last post.
Duterte did encourage people to kill drug addicts around the time of Trump’s call which is obviously not good, but I don’t know if Trump was aware of that.
Could you imagine if he did that?
Liberal reaction:
“Those people were patriots. Trump is Hitler!”
Yep and no one is dealing with the leaks. The message from Obama, Hillary, FBI, CIA to Trump and any future non-politician dares to run for President...see this is what happens when our candidate doesn’t win. We will destroy you, smear you. We own the media, the colleges, the Intelligence Agencies. We have blackmail, tapes on the Republican and Independent parties.
It is matter of time before the next country releases transcripts of telephone conversations. Really what can the President do? He could order FBI to investigate, but then the FBI will warn the “democrat leakers” of an investigation and voila, nothing will happen.
Courts have given the middle finger to President’s EO’s. Rino’s are denying Trump his campaign promises to the people, laughing and joking about him behind closed doors, giving into the Dems for a special prosecutor, getting Sessions to recuse himself.
I really would like to know what the hell Sessions is doing with the pursuing the leaks. I really believe Sessions is fearful of doing anything at this point. Both of Obama’s DOJ’s would allowed to get away with contempt of Congress, illegal meetings on the tarmac, etc. Our Party did nothing like request a special prosecutor.
Trump comes along and they throw him and Sessions under the bus.
Who know what Obama has on Mueller and Assistant DOJ.
