Read the Full Transcript of Trump’s Call With Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte
The Intercept ^ | May 23, 2017 | Jeremy Scahill, Alex Emmons, Ryan Grim

Posted on 05/23/2017 5:13:57 PM PDT by Pinkbell

Last month Donald Trump spoke by phone with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and was widely criticized by members of both parties for inviting the strongman to meet with him in the White House.

The Intercept obtained a transcript of the call and is publishing it in full. On the call, Trump enthusiastically endorsed Duterte’s murderous “drug war” and repeatedly addressed the possibility of a U.S. nuclear strike on North Korea. The transcript, which contains numerous typographical errors, is an official document of the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs. Well-placed sources at the Palace and the Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed its authenticity to reporters for the Philippine news outlet Rappler, which collaborated with The Intercept on this story.

The White House readout describes the call as a “very friendly conversation”:

President Donald J. Trump spoke today with President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines. It was a very friendly conversation, in which the two leaders discussed the concerns of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) regarding regional security, including the threat posed by North Korea. They also discussed the fact that the Philippine government is fighting very hard to rid its country of drugs, a scourge that affects many countries throughout the world. President Trump enjoyed the conversation and said that he is looking forward to visiting the Philippines in November to participate in the East Asia Summit and the U.S.-ASEAN Summit. President Trump also invited President Duterte to the White House to discuss the importance of the the United States-Philippines alliance, which is now heading in a very positive direction.

Here is the transcript:

Full call at link. As you will note, it is marked that it is sensitive and classified on every page, but someone leaked it anyway. When I first heard that this was leaked, I assumed it was someone in our intelligence agencies, but it seems it was from the Philippines.

This is now trending on Twitter, and Trump is being criticized for praising how Duterte has handled the drug war - which has involved killing drug dealers without trial.

I wonder why this was leaked. This has never happened before with the Philippines, so was this someone who doesn't like Trump and/or Duterte? Did they have some incentive from someone in the U.S. possibly? Things to look into.

Killing drug dealers in a foreign country won’t cause any tears shed here.

It is known the intel agencies can make software hacks that appear to be from foreign nations, I’m sure they can do the same with transcripts, so this could still be a US inside job. Plus, the globalist cabal is everywhere.

The Philippine President is headed to Moscow.

It’s my theory that Russians are trying to weaken President Trump and our feckless journalists are eating up their propaganda like Skittles.

I think Trump released it...

Makes it look like deep state is against him. People won't like this

This was released by the Philippines. Here is what the media is saying - Duterte has killed 9,000 people in extra-judicial killings and has urged people to kill drug addicts. Trump is being heavily criticized for praising that.

It is CIA. Time to fire them all. When James Schlesinger was appointed head of the CIA, he fired a bunch, so there is precedent.

Another leak. Yawn.

I suspect most people have tuned out the traitors. I do hope that they are being tracked down and will be prosecuted, fired, convicted, and jailed. Jailed for very long time. We need some examples to make clear that treason comes at a cost.

Liberal snowflakes take umbrage at Trump’s call but have no problem with Obama financing Iranian terrorism. How sad is that?

It sure looks that way. At some point there need to be some very public arrests. These repeated leaks are getting old and says he does not have a team that can keep the government secure.

I didn’t see a mention of the Moslem attacks in Mindanao that happened very early today or maybe our night time last night. If Trump and Duterte talked today, and there is no mention of the Islamic terrorist attack going on, I doubt the authenticity of this call. Unless it’s a call from some time ago.

They certainly are leaving POTUS hanging out to dry on Russiagate. I’ve no doubt they were in contact with Democrats during the election. Yet “The Russians” are not revealing those facts at all.

OOOOPS....read too fast - missed the words “LAST MONTH”!. Okay, so not a call today. Sorry.

PS. the number of people in the US caring about what Duterte did with drugs lords is miniscule; and in the PI, less than that. And from what I’ve read, Duterte has backed off from the hired gun assassinations of the drug lords.
