PM Theresa May raises UK threat level to 'critical'
ITV ^ | Tue 23 May 2017

Posted on 05/23/2017 1:52:18 PM PDT by onemiddleamerican

The UK's terror threat level has been raised from severe to critical, meaning an attack is considered imminent.

Prime Minister Theresa May announced the decision from Downing Street.

The move means that military personnel could be deployed to support armed police officers.

"It is a possibility that we cannot ignore that there a wider group of individuals linked to this attack," Mrs May said.

She said that the threat level was under constant review.

"The change in the threat level means there will be additional support available to the police as they work to keep us safe," she said.

The threat was raised to permanent critical when they changed their immigration laws.

The suicide bomber is son of an earlier wave of Libyan refugees, who escaped from Gadaffi regime in 1990s. Since they found freedom and safety in the UK, their son has to blow up dozens of innocent young concertgoers to say “thank you” to the British people. Reportedly the father is highly critical ISIS and jihad but that didn’t prevent the son from going off the deep end of jihad.

Gee, that’ll sure show those terrorists. They cringe at those powerful adjectives. “Critical?” Oooooh. God help those terrorists if she raises it to “super duper critical.”

“The UK’s terror threat level has been raised from severe to critical, meaning an attack is considered imminent.”

But don’t jump to any conclusions. Perhaps just some threats from football hooligans upset that their team lost. Whatever you do, don’t profile.

My take on raising threat level:

1) they found something in one of their searches that points to more than one bomb vest having been made,

2) they found other (vests) in the raid locations,

3) the person arrested last night is singing,

4) they saw something on CCTV feeds on streets,

5) something more.

There is no way a politician anywhere wants to freak people out. They must have some very good intel or evidence that points at further bloodshed and mayhem.

I hope not, but I believe so.

What we know about Salman Abedi, the man behind the Manchester terror attack

[quotes from article linked above]:

The attack was carried out by 22-year-old Salman Abedi.

Abedi was a lone male suicide bomber who detonated an improvised explosive device.

22 people have been killed and 59 were taken to hospital following the blast. Almost 120 people were injured in total. Children are among the dead

The lone attacker died at the arena

Police are investigating whether he acted alone or was part of a network

It is the worst terrorist attack in the UK since 56 people were killed in the 7/7 London bombings in 2005.

The explosion rocked the Manchester Arena at the conclusion of a performance by the American star Ariana Grande.

Manchester Arena said the explosion happened outside the venue, as people began streaming from the doors.

Greater Manchester Police said they were called to the venue at around 10.33pm and approach roads were closed.

The blast is being treated as a terrorist incident.

More than 400 officers were deployed on the operation throughout Monday night.

Manchester Victoria station was evacuated and trains cancelled.

The victims are being treated at eight hospitals across Greater Manchester, Chief Constable Ian Hopkins said.

The Prime Minister condemned what was being treated as an ‘appalling terrorist attack’ and said she would chair a meeting of the Government’s emergency Cobra committee on Tuesday.

All national General Election campaigning was suspended after the explosion.

A controlled explosion was carried out by police at the Cathedral Gardens area near Manchester Arena shortly after 1.30am.

Police said the suspicious item at the centre of the controlled explosion was just abandoned clothing.

The first victim of the Manchester terror attack has been named as Georgina Callendar

Two more victims have since been named – 18-year-old student Georgina Bethany Callander, and eight-year-old Saffie Rose Roussos.

Police have arrested a man, 23, in connection with the terror attack at Manchester Arena.

It’s just this kind of situation, that causes me to think it would be best for western nations to offer some sort of reward to get these folks to repatriate back to their homeland.

It would be money well spent.

I suspect the Brit's are going to be very careful who they let into those matches.

The crowds themselves would tear the terrorist to bits.

I heard the threat is at the two candle level and that’s pretty bad.
