We’ve got a guy that sees things just about like we do.

He has proven it time and again.

It’s disconcerting to come here and watch folks expressing concern as if he has abandoned us since being elected.

You folks have been here a long time. I know you’re good Conservatives. It’s just disheartening to see so much negativism.

We have wall going up right this very minute on the border. it is being accomplished with $370 million already allocated to repair sections of the wall. A large section of industrial fencing is being replaced by a 20 foot tall steel barrier.

This man is on our side. Illegal immigration flow has already subsided by 75 to 85%.

Despite good news, some of our folks are finding something to go negative about hourly.

We really need to stop doing this to ourselves. It’s just plain defeatist.

Just so you know the $370M is being spent to replace existing fencing.

The Trump budget would lift the legal spending cap on defense and add $54 billion to its topline funds for 2018. It also would increase funding for defense for every other year in the next decade relative to baseline projections.

He is also calling for $2.6 billion to be spent on border security. The bulk of that -- $1.6 billion -- would pay for a "new and replacement" border wall that Trump campaigned on.

$1.6B is not going to cut it.

$1.6B is not going to do it. This is very disappointing.

1) The wall is just part of the plan, not the whole plan.

2) you start small, learn and continue.

3) There is the law of diminishing returns. The first few mile of fence with have a higher cost/benefit that the last mile.

4) The goal is not to throw money at the problem, the goal is to be effective.

5) Trump is results oriented, not activity oriented.

THE YOUNG BULL SAYS, LETS RUN DOWN THE HILL AND BREED SOME OF THOSE HEIFERS. THE OLD BULL SAYS LETS WALK DOWN THE HILL AND BREED THEM ALL.

TRUMP IS AN OLD BULL......................

The old fence was glorified industrial fencing. It wasn’t what we would term a significant barrier.

We would have replaced it during the process anyway, so why not now.

There are plenty of thing to be happy about.

Trump confirms almost weekly, the wall IS going up.

I have no reason not to believe him.

I don’t think it’s going to cost $21 billion either.

That’s what I wondered. I think some of them may want to pay for it, but I would think the opposition would come from the open borders type like Ryan.

Why FReepers insist on posting from the Lying left like Reuters instead of finding and posting reliable sources I’ll never know.

However, my comments hold true regardless.

Have you been in meetings with Trump, where he claims this is all he’ll need or ask for?

Why are you melting down over this?

We have wall being built as we discuss this, and he has said continually the wall is going to be built.

Why are you choosing to believe Reuters over Trump? Reuters has been more truthful with you than Trump? Is that it?

You comments reveal nothing but your inability to think positively.

Trump has been in office for four months, and you’re already declaring it a major failure on this topic.

As I said, MAN UP!

Put on your big-boy pants and try to act like you’re on our team.

Good idea. The Saudis certainly have nothing against building walls.

I saw this same dollar amount on several other outlets.

I never declared a major failure. Quit misrepresenting what I say. I’m actually declaring Trump’s success, but as far as paying for the wall, not the way Trump said it would happen.

Well, remember during the campaign Trump repeatedly spoke of the “private/public partnerships” for infrastructure?

Moreover, do you really think these deals were done over the weekend? I bet he had been informally talking with them since after the election.

I, for one, do not blame any of this on Trump. I blame congress. It doesn’t mean we can’t discuss the wall, healthcare, tax reform and other issues that don’t go smoothly. I blame congress for all of it.

I am not melting down. The fact is the budget calls for $1.6B. That is not enough money. How about looking at this logically. Just the facts.

I did not post this to undermine Trump. The blame is on congress. The proposed budget numbers are out, but if you want to censor it instead of taking action then go ahead.
