Yoga does have value. Hillary does it. Helped her survive all those times they threw her in the back of the van during her campaign.”

Well yes, but aparently one has to write tons of email about it.

Religion is more faith than logic to me

Logic is more that we really are cosmic diarrhea

Pastor quickly explained it. Those poses and rituals are to open portals to the body, presumably for energy transference. By that logic, who knows what could get in? There are wicked spirits out there.

You were weak and susceptible and your faith was not that strong to begin with

No offense

Don’t project that on all Christian yoga practitioners

What influenced me from the perspective of not Christ like?

Prolly materialism and sex

With beautiful women

But if you went to yoga innocently and became a Satan worshippers

That defies my 25 years experience around it

It’s so nutty it’s laughable but you do note they can never resist

“I’m a better Christian than you are”

That used to be a common thing from the scolds in America when I was a boy long ago but it’s been supplanted by the shrill cacophony of political correctness

It’s amusing to see the bent nose of church lady remonstrations here on this thread

Over yoga

Must be a slow day over on the porn threads

The church is correct - yoga is a Hindu practice.

So is eating turmeric.

I've listened to this before. Iy's a good discussion of yoga and occultism.

The foremost exorcist at the Vatican wrote volumes on how yoga endangers the soul of a Christian by inviting the occult. His warnings are enough for me. I won’t go near yoga and any “church” that practices it is sadly mistaken. I don’t let my kids do it either.

I took yoga at a religious based hospital health club for several years until my schedule changed and I could no longer make it work. There was zero mention of any religion, Hindu or otherwise. It was an exercise class pure and simple. The first time I walked in, I looked around and figured it should be relatively easy based on me being in pretty good shape and the age of some of the other folks in the room. That notion was dispelled in about 10 or 15 minutes. It is a slow core based workout that finds muscles that you didn't know you had. The class was probably 80% female, not that there is anything wrong with that. 😀 I would start over today if circumstances allowed.

Haha, well I am married - 30 years this year. And my daughter is a psych nurse and seems to have no problem with my sanity. :)

You are right - I was not a believer when yoga sucked me in. But the Bible says we need to be careful not to cause the weak (me in this case) to stumble. When a church hosts a yoga class, they are giving it their stamp of approval. Those of weak or uncertain faith can be drawn in very easily.

I have no problem with strong believers doing yoga for exercise if they can avoid the emptying of their mind and can separate the physical exercise from the philosophical and spiritual underpinnings. I just want to emphasize that a wholesale endorsement of yoga can cause people to stumble.

I’m not catholic hon

I don’t cotton much to what padres say as a rule

Though I sure liked JP2

And Benedict

Every now and then I see priests on TV I agree with

But my southern baptist preacher man is likely to say bingo is gambling

And gambling sure open doors to the dark prince

I don’t church lady posturing anymore than how easily folks smear with accusations of racism bigotry or anti Semitism

Profundity independent of empiricism is toxic

Just goes to show how messed up they are - they’ll go for that, but a double Whopper is verboten! Meanwhile, cows are running around pooping anywhere they want because they’re considered divine.

Geez what a snob you are
A Jesus snob
==
For pointing out the incredibly obvious fact that yoga is Hindu? But that’s okay; as I said,o non-Christians getting mixed up in Hinduism isn’t their biggest problem. An anti-Jesus snob has something much deeper to worry about.

You just proved my point. One can yoga non-religiously, it can be JUST exercise.

"There was zero mention of any religion, Hindu or otherwise." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I believe that's been covered that in this thread. You don't tell a mark about the scam you're pulling on him. "The class was probably 80% female, not that there is anything wrong with that. 😀 I would start over today if circumstances allowed." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ballet classes are much better for girl watching, trust me. 😀
