Senate Democrats May Refuse To Vote On Trump FBI Pick: Schumer

[Schumer] said on Sunday that Democrats would consider refusing to vote on a new FBI director until a special prosecutor is named to investigate President Donald Trump’s potential ties to Russia.

Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer said his caucus has not yet made a decision on whether to withhold their votes, but added that the issue is being looked at as a way to ensure there is a thorough investigation of alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. election.

“To have that special prosecutor, people would breathe a sigh of relief because then there would be a real independent person overlooking the FBI director,” Schumer told CNN’s “State of the Union” program.

So if the GOPe uses the nuke option now, we’re screwed sometime in the future; but when the Dems take control, they will use the nuke option in the future and we’re screwed. Tyranny here we come, ready or not ...

How can you appoint a special *prosecutor* when there is no allegation of any crime?
Indeed. And even if there were a crime alleged, for a Republican to allow the appointment of “Special Prosecutor” would
Scalia's Finest Opinion
be folly.

Where is the constitutional or statutory requirement that an FBI director be confirmed by the Senate?

“Were the Clarence Thomas hearings your idea of fun? “

We’ve progressed as a nation since pubes on a coke can.

Today the allegation would be pubes on a bottle of craft beer.

The surprise and NEWS would be if they DID vote for a Trump suggested Director.

Why does Schumer act like he has any leverage at all? He’s not holding any cards at all, and he still tries to present a strong hand.

Your votes are not needed. The Nation would be better off if you and the rest of the demoncraps took the next 3.5 years off.

There are no more than 30 senators who support the Presidency of Donald Trump and there may not even be that many.

If they ever get a Bill of Impeachment in front of this Senate, he’s gone. It will only take 25 House Republicans to defect, and if they can cook up even minimally convincing fake charges it might not be that hard to do.

That sounds convincing on its face - but are there actually 67-48 = 19 Republican senators who would be willing to face the voters in their home states after convicting the man those voters selected to be POTUS?

"minimally convincing fake charges“ might easily convince those senators that they want to convict. Convincing them that they can convict and still keep their jobs cozy sinecures might take, you know, actual evidence of actual malfeasance. Considering what Trump might do politically - such as going second party.

It won’t matter. The perv apparently had no idea about the incriminating evidence on the laptop which, by the way, was seized by the NYPD. While the FBI eventually got the laptop, the hard drive had already been copied.

This fake alienation by the left is necessary to push their psychofants into violence. This is a moving away and justification play.

Republicans are cowards. When they don’t show up, ram healthcare and tax reform through as well. Who cares. Stop planning like losers who are also going to lose in 2018 and face retribution. Just do you jobs!

"Fine...the person is confirmed with unanimous consent of the members present."

Why stop with FBI director. There ought to be a number of bills in the wings ready for unanimous consent.

Did anyone expect a Democrat vote for anything? Of course they don’t want the FBI investigating anything in DC.

Screw this, Trump should appoint a special prosecutor who shuts it down on day one. Now THAT would be great entertainment. If the country doesn’t want to get better at least make the process of getting sick as entertaining as possible.

Texting shorthand for “Okay”, as in “Ya’ll don’t wanna vote, then don’t vote”. Shortest comment I could make.

...”I believe there are 70 votes, easily, in the Senate for removal.”

These aholes in the Senate don’t realize how pissed off normal Americans are right now.

I wonder how many of these so-called “senators” would survive the convulsions that would engulf America as a response.
