Two days before Courtney Woods dresses in a cap and gown for Harvard’s traditional commencement, she will don a stole made of African kente cloth and address the crowd at a somewhat different event: a graduation ceremony for black students.
Student organizers said the event, called Black Commencement 2017, is the first universitywide ceremony for black students at Harvard, and is designed to celebrate their unique struggles and achievements at an elite institution that has been grappling with its historic ties to slavery.

More than 170 students and 530 guests have signed up to attend the ceremony, which will be held May 23 at Holmes Field, near the Harvard Law School campus. The event will feature speeches by black students, alumni, and administrators.
“I can only imagine how special I will feel when I walk across that stage and be able to honor my identity and my struggle at Harvard,” said Woods, who is completing a master’s degree at the Graduate School of Education. “I know this is exactly what students like me need to be inspired as we leave this place as emerging global leaders.”

Sign Up Similar ceremonies have been held for Harvard undergraduates as well as for students at Stanford, Columbia, Temple, and other campuses. On May 23, Harvard will also hold its third annual graduation ceremony for students of Latin American descent.
The ceremony for black students was created during a period of heightened activism related to racism on college campuses, and in the country at large — from the Black Lives Matter movement to the increased focus on “micro-aggressions,” passing comments that seem to trivialize or marginalize the experiences of minorities.
At Harvard, the campus has also undergone a season of soul-searching.
Good for them. Now shun white business (99.99% of what is out there), move to your own special enclaves, and whatever you do, don’t talk or interact with those white devils!
The fact that they got into Harvard tells me that they don’t have a damned thing to bitch about. They should give thanks every day that their ancestors were slave traders and that they ended up in the USA.

Well, no, it would be racist for whites to have their own graduation.
The rule is, there are grievance groups, officially recognized as such per the liberals under the standards of political correctness.
Grievance groups are allowed to have their own separate events. But those not in a grievance group cannot do so, as it would be bigoted and insensitive and intolerant to do so.
So since whites are not a grievance group, and whites are blamed for all the problems of said grievance groups, whites are not allowed to have a separate event.
Women could have a separate event, because females are a grievance group.
Homosexuals, and the whole “LGBT” series of sexual identification categories, are allowed to have their own separate event.
The rule is, that the people involved have to be able to claim membership in a grievance group.
Whites, and especially white men, are excluded. However, white women can claim to be oppressed. A white man can be part of the oppressed group if he is a homosexual.
“...emerging global leaders” = Affirative Action slugs in government jobs, kept alive by taxpayer money taken from the Middle Class drones who are paid half as much at their non-government jobs
There must be students or administrators named Plessy or Ferguson.

Who payed for it? I imagine it’s a less than trivial cost.
I suppose since Harvard has an over 1 Billion dollar portfolio, they can easily afford a graduation for every skin color, race, sexual orientation and gender separate ceremony.

With a few exceptions they are quotas. They know it deep down. But they want to reaffirm each other in their group surface delusion.
Affirmative action is caustic. It eats away at both the deserving and undeserving. An insidious racism that is creating the very thing it ostensibly seeks to end.
Well that’s the catch, they won’t because it would be called racist.
Now get w/ the program or you’ll be put on a list.....; )
