Were it the deciding vote, yes, but #11 out of 34 isn’t huge.

Mark probably tries to buy World Series tickets when his team wins its third game of the season.

I know my view is unpopular, but I do not see how changing or adding words to the US Constitution will modify the behavior of those who refuse to abide by original document?

That was my point, yes every state counts, but there’s still a long way to go.

Well if there was ever a chance for this to happen, for better or worse, I would think it would be now.

Also, with the R's mostly in charge of the states, they would have a better chance of controlling the COS.

"Republicans now dominate state government, with 32 legislatures and 33 governors"

I can think of a dozen reasons for a Art V convention. So can you.

*there is Absolutely nothing wrong with the US Constitution, it needs no ammendment, nor do states need anything new rights or protections.

Wrong. The 17th Amendment destroyed the carefully crafted balance between state and federal governments.

It needs to be repealed.

From the clear wording of Article V, and as expounded by Hamilton in the Federalist 85, Congress has no option, no discretion but to call a COS once the 34th state applies.

Yes, the Constitution may be amended, as per the Declaration, to organize the powers of the Constitution “in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.”

The founding fathers are the ones who included Article V specifically to allow the states to put a check on a fedgov that had run amok.

You’ll have more power at the state level and you’ll be able to stop crying about the blue states :)

Then many red states can stop getting more than they give to the government and you’ll be set :)

Here's one example of where the Constitution is broken.

One circuit court judge can stop the Presidents from passing clearly Constitutional Executive actions. That need to be fixed and could be fixed via Art V.

There are a lot more examples.

The convention of states is not some radical idea designed to overthrow the Constitution. It is a mechanism specified by the Constitution in the amendment process. Amendments may be proposed in two ways. To date, all amendments have been proposedby a 2/3 vote of both houses of Congress. The COS is just an alternate, as yet unused, method to propose amendments.

Amendments proposed in this way would in no way differ from those proposed by Congress. They would be subject to the same ratification process, which would require ratification by 3/4 of the states. The purpose of the COS is to provide the states the power to amend the Constitution independently of the Federal Government.

You compare the delegates to a Convention of States as something akin to the Electoral College. Do you really think the Electoral College would've voted for Trump if their hands weren't tied?

Unless the political class can have its act cleaned up, the less they meet to "accomplish" things, the better!

<>The 17th Amendment destroyed the carefully crafted balance between state and federal governments. <>

Quite right, and for practical purposes, the 17th repealed the 10th. In time, thanks to popularly elected senators, the scotus has elevated itself to not only the supreme branch of government, but superior to the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God. Scotus recognizes no power above itself!

All good things are possible upon repeal of the 17th, and impossible without it.
