Liberals are salivating at the idea of taxing cars by the distance they travel, to better rake in money for their nefarious purposes. In California, they are taking the idea one step farther, planning to tax space rockets by the mile as well.

Wow. Just wow.
Please realize that these folks are real “Space Cadets” to began with!
New taxes always create more jobs in Kalifornia. Liberals are just insane.
They must be running low on condoms and sex reassignment operations for state prisoners.
“We’ll take the egg the Golden goose hatches from, crack it, cook it, and eat it. Once the goose hatches we’ll have unlimited golden eggs to eat.”
If we could time travel to 1900 and propose a tax on Publishing, the WHOLE PUBLISHING INDUSTRY would be in California..!!!
Great logic..!
They could be solvent in two or three light-years, if they taxed by the mile!!! /s;)
There is dumb, dumber and California liberal dumb.
How dumb?
Nasa doesn’t launch anything from California, and they only use about a mile of Edwards AFB to land them sometimes. And Eddie’s is a federal government reserve. They do not control their airspace as the feds do that too. What are they going to tax by the mile? Nothing.

SpaceX, Scaled Composites/Virgin Galactic, a bunch of other burgeoning space outfits... they launch from California. Many launch from Mojave Spaceport. Basically, all the non-monolith space companies and perhaps anyone launching from Vandenberg AFB. Mojave is one of the few places in the US a civilian company that’s not a huge multinational can actually go and fly a new air or spacecraft design: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mojave_Air_and_Space_Port
Can they all just go into space?
Former Resident.. it makes me ill!
I guess we will no longer see any launches from California, like SpaceX does. And it’s a good thing the Space Shuttle has stopped flying. Back in the day, NASA didn’t like the Space shuttle landing at Edwards AFB, because it cost a lot to fly it back to Florida. Imagine how much more it will cost with a tax added!
Space Cowboys vs The Black Hole Pirates!
Also, I just checked. The only place in the US you can legally launch a manned private (non-NASA) civilian spacecraft is the Mojave Spaceport in California. The FAA has yet to approve any other spaceports.
Is that the case? This FAA list appears to have many more approved, licensed companies, and 10 site operator licenses.

Key word there is ‘manned’. As best I can tell, no others are man rated (yet).
Surprisingly, a good number of people on state-funded pensions, i.e. government workers and teachers, are leaving California (many to Nevada) and are able to avoid paying California state taxes on those pensions (and any other retirement funds).
Liberals are salivating at the idea of taxing cars by the distance they travel,Unintended consequences: I have 2 cars I bought in 03. one has 50,000mi the other 80,000. Oh, the one with 50,000 had 12,000 when I bought it.
The state mandated water meters. Before my meter was installed I was charged a flat rate based on the size of my property...After the meter was installed I now pay half what I used to for the same amount of water usage.
I should complain about the decades of being overcharged by the water Dept.
So we should mandate the taxing agency be sent into space with a tape measure. No oxygen, just a tape measure.
“Just came back from the Moon. Want to see pictures?”
“No. Your tax bill is $240,000.”
