Top staffers loyal to ousted Heritage Foundation president Jim DeMint have stepped down from organization, according to a new report.

The Daily Beast reported Tuesday evening that top staffers -- including Executive Vice President Bret Bernhardt, Vice President of Communications Wesley Denton, Vice President of Policy Promotion Ed Corrigan and DeMint’s chief of staff, Camera Seward, have resigned.

The Heritage Foundation announced DeMint’s resignation earlier Tuesday, blaming the former leader for "significant and worsening management issues that led to a breakdown of internal communications and cooperation.”

DeMint, a former South Carolina senator, took the helm of Heritage in 2013.

"Jim DeMint and a handful of his closest advisers failed to resolve these problems,” read a statement from the organization.

Jim DeMint was always held in high regard by conservatives and moderates alike. I would love for him to come back to the Senate where he is badly needed considering the wimps and cowards who run or ruin it now.>>> I just think Fuerlner(sp) thot Demint was a “mini me” and he needs to plan fo a replacement team.

.....”I have an overwhelming suspicion that Jim DeMint is part of the solution to the problem the Heritage Foundation does not want to admit it has”....

Oh absolutely.....and I'm not surprised of the Exodus.....

Keep in mind, and as we know, the demo/liberals play book is to infiltrate these places....with the end result just as it played here....same with Fox News....and others.....they're on a roll to take over everywhere they can get a wedge started....

I’ll never give another penny to them after what happened to me. Believe me, they don’t need the money.

Donate and get involved with your local schools. We need education at the high school level more than anything else. Focus there.

“I know you would have had your way on the Hill, right? You would have nullified the House and legislated your very own self, right? Senate too, I’m just sure.

Just you being you would have transformed the three branches of government.

Get over yourself, Socrates.”

Are you talking about Heritage or Trump?

I doubt DeMint will come back to the Senate. He quit originally because he was tired of all the wrangling going on (lobbyists and big money donors). Jim is a get it done kind of guy.

Jim DeMint has been and will always be a hero to me. Trump would be very wise to hire DeMint in an advisory position if he truly wants to drain the swamp of all rinos. I am DONE with the Heritage Foundation.

Good to see you, Katie.

According to the general theory, posited by CTH (theconservativetreehouse.com), which was directed to a different but similar case, Sundance said we never really lose these people. (Even the bad ones, unfortunately.)

There is a musical chairs process for the politically connected, and also for the “elite”. A senator can run for governor if he senses trouble, or someone moves to a “think tank” from serving as a representative, or senator.

In this case, the researchers are thought to be very good ones, experts, and very productive. Their expertise is shared with like minded candidates who are running for office, from say Cruz to also Trump, to the committees on the Hill.

So, we still have the popular DeMint, and we still have the researchers. The problem guy was at the top, apparently this Needham person. Heritage is donor supported and Needham has caused a mess, apparently on all sides.

All these good people are available to re-group elsewhere together, or apart, but I hope their work goes on wherever they land, as each has proven valuable to conservative thought. I believe they will land on their feet, particularly DeMint, and the researchers will continue to produce the work they love, but from some other perch.

Great to see you too Rita.

Yes, DeMint is a fighter and this is not the end of him. It wasn’t long ago that he wrote an op-ed reprimanding republicans and democrats; may have a lot to do with his resignation (under pressure)
