I find it fascinating how reactive Trump is.
Because he doesn’t really have any set political principles (let alone conservative principles), I don’t think he really knows how things will play within his base.
I go back to the “there needs to be punishment” comment in regards to making abortion illegal. He had no earthly idea what the Pro-Life movement believed so....he winged it. And then learned that his instincts were wrong.
It’s pretty obvious that he never expected the backlash he is receiving. So, he’s responding to it.
I guess that’s good for next time, but it’s still amazing to watch in real time.

Perhaps, I fear one day soon enough in the next few generations we may have no choice but to fight for our liberty. The left has become an intolerant group of facist.
A shut down however is Trump’s most promising solution. It is too bad he has to wait until September but that is 3 months figure out how to run the Government on revenue in the way he most like.
That said most of his supporters would favor a much more simplistic solution that involves axing an alphabet of unpopular agencies from EPA, FDA, ATF, NOAL, and a handfull of others just to piss democrats off into getting them to agree with a permanent budget.
