North Korea Says US Bomber Flights Pushing Peninsula To Brink Of Nuclear War

SEOUL: North Korea accused the United States on Tuesday of pushing the Korean peninsula to the brink of nuclear war after a pair of strategic U.S. bombers flew training drills with the South Korean and Japanese air forces in another show of strength.

The two supersonic B-1B Lancer bombers were deployed amid rising tensions over North Korea's dogged pursuit of its nuclear and missile programmes in defiance of United Nations sactions and pressure from the United States.

The flights of the two bombers on Monday came as U.S. President Donald Trump said he was open to meeting North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in the right circumstances, and as his CIA director landed in South Korea for talks.

South Korean Defence Ministry spokesman Moon Sang-gyun told a briefing in Seoul that Monday's joint drill was conducted to deter provocations by the North and to test readiness against another potential nuclear test.

The U.S. air force said in a statement the bombers had flown from Guam to conduct training exercises with the South Korean and Japanese air forces.

North Korea said the bombers conducted "a nuclear bomb dropping drill against major objects" in its territory at a time when Trump and "other U.S. warmongers are crying out for making a preemptive nuclear strike" on the North.

"The reckless military provocation is pushing the situation on the Korean peninsula closer to the brink of nuclear war," the North's official KCNA news agency said on Tuesday.

NK throwing a nuke would be China and Russia nuking us (South Korea) without our detecting so.

This is a game language. NK is their colonynor sattelite.

It becomes our problem if they get nuclear bombs that can reach the United States. The U.S. isn’t going to sit around until it gets to that point.

North Korea is too damn close to Russia and China for us to use nukes.

They stand close to this mental case as the mental case develops nukes, but ya can't use small tactical nukes against the mental case? We certainly can. Think again.

Wrong, it’s not SK’s problem. This guy is developing delivery systems which can reach anywhere including the U.S. That makes it our problem.

As P.J. O’Rourke said, “We knew how things stood when the town drunk and the town bully strongly suggested that we shouldn’t get a new home security system.”

It’s only a question of when the Korean War will start up again. We need to finally win this. 37,000 soldiers died in that forsaken hellhole. The fact that the Fatboy threatens America is disgusting.

It all comes down to the same exact problem we have with all Nuclear nations that have ICBM’s that can reach the US.

Mutually Assured Destruction.

If he launches a nuclear tipped ICBM, we will know its trajectory, therefore its target, it will then be shot down, but they will not be able to shoot ours down.

Kim knows if he launches hes dead, and all of his people are dead too.

If he sells a nuclear weapon to a terrorist group and they detonate it , the radioactive particles will be quickly traced back to whatever NK reactor the material was refined at, and once again NK turns into a glass parking lot.

Besides China and North Korea, which of those have repeatedly threatened to nuke west coast U.S. in recent times?

What does it matter?

They aren’t going to do it.

Pretty sure all nuclear nations have threatened others with nukes before.

The only time they’ve ever been used was when there could not possibly be a nuclear retaliation.

They aren’t going to do it.

So the North Koreans will never nuke anyone? Really? The U.S. did but North Korea won't?

Did you advise the White House of this? And since we now know NK won't ever use nukes, should the U.S. just ignore the North Korean leader?

There’s a couple ways this can go. It would be in NK’s best interest to just say Uncle.

Most countries care about their destruction. They are so screwed up, he probably thinks trying destroy the US at the sake of a destroyed NK will bring them honor.

One of these guys flew over me at about 300ft in 1989.

In my POV on the Tonopah test site. Turn off the radio and get out of your truck. 45min later, good to go.

Impressive. It was doing some calibrations with the ground folks. Just me and security, having a smoke and watching Raw power. (I was a AAA gunner on site)

For over 50 years they could have launched tons of artillery strikes at SK.

They haven’t.

He’s just playing his dumb game. Like his father before him. Threaten threaten threaten, receive compromise, back off the rhetoric for awhile. Threaten threaten threaten, receive compromise. It’s rinse and repeat.

Even if they had functional ICBM’s they would just be used as bargaining chips. That’s all he wants them for. To really use them would bring the hammer down.

If I were president, I would want to have a saddle fitted to a nuclear bomb. I would wear a western hat and yell, “U.S.A.! U.S.A.!” while on the saddle and have the occasion televised.

Our adversaries and sunny day allies don’t like cowboys? “Very bad!” They should change their attitude!

[The comment above is intended to be for the purpose of humor and criticism of weak past foreign relations. Our President is welcome to use the ideas and words above as he sees fit.]

Excuse me, we we're talking about nukes and delivery systems right?

Did NK have nukes 50 years ago? Was NK developing delivery systems to carry nuke payloads 50 years ago?

??

Dude they could have shot at our ships with missiles, shot at SK, shot at China, shot at Japan hundreds of thousands of times. But they haven’t.

It won’t be ANY different with nukes. They will just use them as bargaining chips. They will not use them in a pre-emptive strike. They would use them in retaliation of a pre-emptive strike. But I don’t believe they will shoot the nukes first.

That’s like suicide by cop, on a genocidal scale.

They get one nuke off, and then what? Hundreds of thousands of people die and NK is uninhabitable for 100 years. Congratulations, Darwin award of the millennia.

We would not have used nuclear weapons on Japan if they had the capability of using them on us in retaliation.

You seem to think fat boy is suicidal. I doubt it. He’s got a really sweet gig at the expense of his countrymen. He wants bargaining chips. That’s all he will use them for.
