Seems to me they sure as Hell don't believe in big government.

It depends on how you define big government. If you asked them if they support Medicare, Medicaid, and SS, I bet the majority of Americans of every age group will vote overwhelmingly for those programs. Paraphrasing Mark Steyn, "Americans want all the benefits of the European welfare state, but they don't what to pay European level taxes."

Demographically, our changing population fueled by mass immigration and minority birthrates, will increase the numbers of those wanting bigger government and more services. Almost one half of our population receive a government check in one form or another and that will increase as our population ages and the wealth gap widens creating a large, permanent underclass.

Once they get "robbed" so-to-speak, by either a real criminal or one representing the government, they'll drop the groupthink and realize they've been led by the pied piper of progressivism.

IMO we are going to see more and more people demanding more from the government. Even the Trump tax reform plan increases those who do not pay income taxes to about 50% of the population. 80% of Americans pay more in payroll taxes than they do in income taxes. Incomes have remained stagnant or declining since 1969 when measured in inflation adjusted dollars. We have the lowest labor participation rates since the 1970s. Mass immigration and automation are depressing wages and eliminating jobs.

Agree. The Government at the federal, state, and local levels control more than a quarter of our GDP.

Norah O'Donnell who reportedly slept here way to the top in her younger years, accusing Trump of not knowing what he is doing in health care and not willing to work with the left. Hey she's not biased is she? Not hardly.

The panel afterwards gives a predictable analysis. I wonder how much of the interview was edited to shape the perceptions of the viewer. They will air more of the interview tomorrow as they originate the morning show from the WH.

Moore is a Bible-thumper. I am not—I’m Catholic,

I too am Catholic, and yes Judge Roy Moore is a Bible-Thumper - so what

Your response "bashing" Judge Roy Moore may very well be why RINOs keep getting Elected and Re-elected

If more Freepers I intend to vote for him, if just to poke a finger in the eye of liberals (and RINOS) in the US Senate. vote for outsiders who they perceive as somewhat defective we MAY have a chance at recovering this country

The best book on the topic was "A Colossal Failure of Common Sense: The Inside Story of the Collapse of Lehman Brothers".

. It explained how Clinton's repeal of Glass-Steagall set up the environment initially. It went into great detail of how the mortgage brokers were making fortunes on the backs of unsuspecting home buyers. Example: They would approach a renter of property and tell them for no down payment and a mortgage payment of significantly less than their rental, they could buy a house. In addition, they would give them a lump sum of cash at the closing. All went well for a year or two until the low sucker interest rate adjusted to reality. Most people couldn't afford the payments and walked away from homes whose values were far below the mortgage balance. Since these mortgages were bundled into investment vehicles, when the house of cards finally collapsed, it was us who got hurt. The banks got bailed out and our 401ks got crushed.

Great analysis. I wish someone could explain what happened when Bush43 was conned into bailing out all those bad bank loans and why he did it instead of letting obama do it who was coming in to office very soon as I recall.

Dickerson needs to learn a little bit of respect for our President.

He needs to receive some letters like this:

Dear Dirtbag:

The President was right....you are Very Fake News.

And furthermore, when you insult him....you insult millions of us, his supporters, and we also vote with our remotes.

Perhaps you noticed.

We will agree to disagree. We are entering uncharted territory with the changing demographics of this country. By 2019 half of the children 18 and under will be minorities as defined by the USG. Non-hispanic whites will be 50% of the population by 2043 down from 89% in 1970 and 63% today. There are electoral consequences from these shifts in population. Immigrants and minorities vote more than two to one Dem. And they are the biggest users of the welfare system.

All in all, minorities, now 37 percent of the U.S. population, are projected to comprise 57 percent of the population in 2060. (Minorities consist of all but the single-race, non-Hispanic white population.) The total minority population would more than double, from 116.2 million to 241.3 million over the period.

In 2056, for the first time, the older population, age 65 and over, is projected to outnumber the young, age under 18.

Bashing? How so? Am I allowed to have political differences with someone I intend to vote for? LOL!

So, I am for a state lottery modeled on Georgia (where lottery receipts go to education, and doesn’t let the state cut $ for every $ collected). Moore isn’t for religious reasons.

Moore supports no alcohol sales on Sunday, I do.

Moore and I disagree on not much else. Therefore, he’s my choice. But let’s not argue about his appeal to the Christian voters, especially the state’s majority Fundamentalist Baptists. That’s not bashing; just the truth.

Incidentally, I fear nothing from Fundamentalist Christians, though I am not one. I actually think their voice in the politics of this country is a very good thing. I think they’re night and day different from the Muslims, whom the Left wish to associate with Fundamentalist Christians. Yeah, loping off heads is the same as turning the other cheek!

In terms of the entitlement programs, the biggest drivers of our debt, you need to either increase taxes or decrease benefits or some combination of both to keep these programs sustainable. Medicare has been running in the red since 2008 and SS since 2010.

Trump is smart not to take the lead on reforming SS and Medicare. The Dems will crucify him and the Reps if he does. It has to be bipartisan. The train wreck is unavoidable if nothing is done. The Trust Fund for Medicare is exhausted in 2028 and for SS in 2033, then by law, the benefits must be reduced to the revenue received, i.e., about 20%.

I honestly think you are extrapolating the idea that poor immigrants will always be poor immigrants, and therefore their politics will remain Leftist/Socialist.

If that were the case, German immigrants of 1848 (basically Leftists who were defeated by Royalists); the Irish of the Potato Famine; later Italians, Serbs, Russians and Poles (who came in the late 1800s/early 1900s) would all be Eugene Debs socialists today...

They’re not. Some of these groups are the bedrock of modern conservative voters, and very much part of the Trump Triumph of 2016.

The only immigrant groups that stayed with their socialist roots have been European Jews and Scandinavians.

If your numbers are true, then we should work now to teach conservatism to the Hispanic immigrants, and ensure they leave their Social Justice Latin Catholicism behind them. I’m a catholic, but more on the line of John Paul II and Benedict 16. If they’re gonna stay in the Catholic Church it needs to be American Catholic, not Latin American. By the way, we have some LEGAL Mexicans in my church, and they only come to the English mass, and they like our very conservative priest!

Nothing in life comes easy, sorry to say. A tough order, but it can be done. We are, however, the United States of America, and I believe in American Exceptionalism—as spelled out in the Declaration of Independence. I don’t think you have to be a certain ethnic group to believe in it also.

The mortgage crash was due to con men bundling worthless mortgages full of hot air rather than equity and selling them to insane bankers.

When it all blew up they simply blamed Bush and he was so weak he let it stick.

So true. Aided by Dana PeRino and Karl Rove... who talk a big refined game but let GWB sink into oblivion and pave the way for Barry O

AB: Although your Sharyl Attkisson fantasy has been totally shattered, there are many other available gals out there who would be happy to accommodate you. (just so you can do you part to reverse those white voter statistics)

And....can you please do something with those Bishops and priests who do nothing to oppose the baby-killer "catholic" elected officials? They should be blasting them with Hell-fire at every Mass.

Why the hell would any self-respecting Catholic (and "hispanic") voter support these pro-death scum?
