Holder: Trump's election fraud claims are laying foundation for voter suppression

Former Attorney General Eric Holder on Wednesday tore into President Trump's claims of rampant voter fraud, saying the allegations have laid a foundation for voter suppression and more restrictive voter identification laws.

"The vote fraud mantra is said so often — it’s almost said robotically — that some people have unthinkingly begun to believe that the issue is real," Holder said at a National Action Network conference in New York City.

"And with recent claims by Mr. Trump of ‘rigged elections’ based on fraud, again without any proof, save the bluster of the candidate, this mistaken belief in voter fraud becomes almost hardwired," he continued.

President Trump has repeatedly claimed that the United States' election system is "rigged" and that rampant voter fraud by millions of "illegals" prevented him from winning the popular vote in November. The real estate mogul, however, won the Electoral College vote.

Because of those claims, Holder said, "a predicate has been laid for further voter suppression efforts," despite no credible evidence suggesting that voter fraud is a widespread problem.

During his tenure as the country's top law enforcement official under former President Obama, Holder vowed to aggressively challenge state voter ID laws, which disproportionately affect minorities and low-income voters. Thirty-three states currently have some form of voter ID la

Trump taps Pence to head voter fraud investigation

President Trump will have Vice President Mike Pence oversee a special commission to investigate voter fraud, which he says helped Hillary Clinton win the popular vote.

“I’m going to set up a commission to be headed by Vice President Mike Pence and we’re going to look at it very, very carefully,” Trump told Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly in an interview airing Sunday afternoon before the Super Bowl.

“Look, Bill, we can be babies, but you take a look at the registration, you have illegals, you have dead people you have this, it’s really a bad situation, it’s really bad,” he said.

The announcement came up when Trump was asked about criticism that his claim of voter fraud is not backed up by the data.

“Many people have come out and said I’m right, you know that,” Trump said. “You have illegals, you have dead people … it’s really a bad situation.”

The Washington Post reported that Pence pledged to GOP lawmakers at the annual Republican retreat in Philadelphia that the administration would initiate a “full evaluation” of voting rolls nationwide.

Holder wants citizens to not enjoy the benefits of citizenship because they do not have a picture ID. They cannot fly, they cannot get into federal buildings, they cannot buy alcoholic drinks, the cannot buy guns, etc.

You’re damn right I want to suppress the votes of those who can’t get an ID legally, or, can’t do so without getting caught for other crimes. The too stupid to get an ID should not be allowed to vote either. Suppress, suppress, suppress! My legal, valid vote is diluted by voter fraud.

"The vote fraud mantra is said so often — it’s almost said robotically — that some people have unthinkingly begun to believe that the issue is real," Holder said at a National Action Network conference in New York City.

That's Al Sharpton's network, which also helped organize the post-inauguration Women's March on Washington via Tamika Mallory. Holder and his collaborators need to be hit with a RICO suit.

...more restrictive voter identification laws.

Which will do exactly what harm to whom? Anyone not smart enough or willing to get off their @$$ long enough to obtain ID should not be voting anyway. If I were a black man, another minority or elderly (well, at 73 maybe I am that to you youngsters) I'd be quite offended that the left considers me incapable of getting ID. Yet the only reason they ever give for no ID checks on voters is that it would have a disparate impact on minorities and the elderly.

He has to look as if the $25,000 his firm collects from CA monthly is doing something.”Make motion, not progress”.

Former Obama Attorney General Eric Holder’s law firm is reportedly bringing in $25,000 a month in California taxpayers’ money for legal counsel about countering the Trump administration.

In January the Democrat-dominated California state legislature hired Mr. Holder’s and his firm, Covington & Burling, “to assist with legal challenges over everything from immigration to environmental policies,” Fox News reported Thursday.

Judicial Watch, a conservative legal watchdog group, disclosed the arrangement after receiving the relevant documents in a freedom of information request, said Fox.

the candidate.

Holder will not identify Trump as the President.

How does Voter-ID (various forms that are allowed and even those are a bit loose) create voter suppression and voter disenfranchisement?

You need an ID to cash a check, fly on a plane, buy booze, rent a car, rent a tool, do some bank transactions like withdraw money from your account.

You need an ID to basically survive, but not required for the basic right as a citizen to be heard in an election.

To argue against Voter-ID is yet another hypocritical stance that the Left is famous for. The total absence of any logic is becoming laughable because it is becoming so absurd.

Wonder how much a Bumfights video of "Dick" Holder getting a beatdown from a homeless guy would go for?

Would it be worth more if the homeless guy knocked Little Eric's teeth out?

Let’s just have an audit of California to see if there are non-citizens registered and voting so we can put this to rest.

A random (must be truly random though) sample of 0.1% of last years CA voters would be enough to highlight the problem.
