United Airlines Passenger Was Violent in Removal, Police Report Says
The New York Times ^ | April 25, 2017 | Jonah Engel Bromwich

Posted on 04/26/2017 7:44:23 PM PDT by SarahPalin2012

Newly released police documents claim that Dr. David Dao, the passenger who was shown being dragged off a United Airlines flight on April 9 in widely shared videos, behaved violently toward the officers removing him, but his lawyer dismissed this account as “utter nonsense.”

The phone videos taken by other passengers set off waves of criticism and multiple statements from the airline, each more apologetic than the last.

The police reports were released Monday afternoon in response to a freedom of information request filed by The New York Times and other news organizations. The releases included audio of the original call to the Chicago Department of Aviation police, personnel reports about the officers and an incident report that appeared to blame Dr. Dao for his own injuries.

He’s been told, several times, but the information hasn’t penetrated.

The airline staff are responsible. They should have raised the financial offer high enough so someone would opt to fly on a later flight. Once they ok’d his ticket and boarding pass and put him on the plane, they were wrong in deciding to remove him. The airline staff screwed up and could also have solved it with a big money offer for someone to get off the plane.

You must have another link. This one has nothing about Dao being diabetic. Also, the link you provided states in plain language that it “appears to contradict videos,” of the event. What source do you believe: security guards trying their best not to lose their jobs, or actual video of the events?

I still say Dao walks away with a cool $17 million. Bank on it!

Now Dao was disturbed? WTH? He’s a Dr. and makes more money than both you and I combined. Not an easy task if one is mentally disturbed right? He was acting in shock in the video as “he had to get back home because he has patients” Don’t you understand THAT!?

What he paid for is a seat.
Not a lottery ticket.

It’s funny you’re all over this story about Dao and United Airlines, but I haven’t heard your take on the Amwerican Airlines video with the “supposed” flight attendant that hit the mother with the baby carriage. Where do you stand on that?

He didn’t want to give up his seat which is why he was clutching the armrests. He paid for the seat and they’d have to pry his cold and dead fingers first before he goes anywhere. He paid for it and he is staying.

I read the report that claims Dao said he was diabetic. My take: it’s completely CYA absurdly implausible.

It is a fact that Dao was bleeding and concussed. In the scene as painted by the reoort, there were three security guards, multiple EMS personnel, and others present.
The claim that an injured 69 yo man could elude every person in such a crowd and reenter the plane is a self-serving farce. Are these people openly claiming to be Keystone Kops? If so, sad. If not, the story reads like a pack of desperate and silly lies.

Bottom line: the parts of the security guards’ reports that cover the video recorded incidents are demonstrably false. But your take is, as soon as the guards were no longer being recorded, they suddenly turned honest and accurate in their narrative.

Not buying it.

Would have acted that way Dao acted? If that is normal behavior then I was raised incorrectly.

The only reason Dao is looking at a big payday is because he was seriously injured. To suggest that he wanted to be injured, or could have foreseen it, is stupid at best.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Nowhere in any statement I’ve made about this incident have I suggested that the doctor “wanted to be injured” or that he “could have foreseen it,” and for you to suggest that I have “is stupid at best.” You have the rude habit of putting words in the mouths of other posters to buttress your own weak arguments, and you should try to avoid doing that because it makes YOU look STUPID!

Guess the commoners are supposed to be as docile as lambs.

Those of us "commoners" who are sane, decent and respectable would have walked off that aircraft calmly when instructed to so so knowing,as they did so,that they'd be contacting a lawyer the following morning to see how many millions we could get from United for their "outrageous" treatment.

But this punk kicked, screamed and wept like a crack addict who had just been denied his hit.Well,I say crack addict...maybe I should have said morphine addict...which he was (and still is?),as evidenced by his felony conviction.

‘I took a lot of heat for nailing this creep as a scammer on day one. He was begging for a hostile altercation with $$$$ flashing in his eyes thinking of the suit he planned to bring against the airline.

LOCK HIM UP!’

Your premise only works if Dao wanted to be injured and could foresee that he would be. Otherwise, there’s no ‘scam.’ You don’t make “$$$$” from being removed safely and uninjured from a plane under these circumstances. At best—at the absolute most optimal—Dao *might* have won enough to cover his legal fees.

So A, or B.

A, being Dao planned to be seriously injured, which would have been the only way to break more than even—with that being a longshot—under the circumstances.

B, Dao didn’t want to be injured, and therfore wasn’t attempting any kind of scam.

Take your pick.

He was asked to get off the plane. He was then ordered off the plane. He was then confronted by police who ordered him off the plane. What happened next was the logical outcome. He was forcibly removed. He asked for it and he got it. The time to argue is after you get off. It’s is just like resisting a police order because it was. Just like if a cop is wrong pulling you over and even arresting you his order is best obeyed. Once you go down the path of making a cop force (see the word force) you to comply it will probably hurt (see the word force again). Don’t want force applied to you then comply. Not saying if he was or wrong on the issue itself just that once ordered off it was time to go.

‘But this punk kicked, screamed and wept’

Dao did none of this prior to being head slammed/brain injured on the armrest. This was explained to you previously. Please stop repeating inaccurate information; thank you.
