Libertarians would have questions about it too.

Nobody really wants to win the War On Drugs as such. It’s too lucrative to keep on taking plunder in it. And the smugglers know that too, and they like easy property forfeiture. He knows that the county mountie does not want to kill the goose that is laying the golden eggs.

The Wall should not be funded that way; the incentives are too perverse. As a simple investment it should pay itself back.

And the Wall will likely also be a boon to Mexico. It alone will slow down trafficking of all kinds (not just drugs, but human smuggling) which is a net bane to Mexico.

Donald might have rhetoricized about making Mexico pay for the wall, when in reality what it saves to the USA and to Mexico will make the wall worth it.
