Sounds reasonable. That means the Democratics will oppose it.

In effect, Mexico does pay for the wall.
Assuming these seized assets are not just frozen but have been permanently confiscated after full adjudication?
To: Sub-Driver
Trump discussed the possibility of using Mexican Cartel money etc to pay for the wall during his campaign.
So Ted writes a bill....and I'd say it's going nowhere.

YES!

Yes, great idea, Ted. Thanks!
Might we also tax the money that is wired from USA to mexico to add to the Great Wall Construction Fund?

Brilliant Plan.
I want all the bad things that have been said about Ted Cruz here at Good Old FR to be officially withdrawn and removed from the record.
Or else.
Or else what?
I’m working on it.
I’ll think of something.

Ted Cruz Introduces EL CHAPO Act to Make Mexican Drug Lord Pay for WallI would have introduced the El Guopo Act.
All proceeds from the movie The Three Amigos would go to building the wall.
To: Sub-Driver
Brilliant! How could the traitorous Democrats object to this perfect solution to funding the Trump Wall?
To: Sub-Driver
Brilliant. Anyone opposed is a fool and a traitor.

EL CHAPO.
That’s in-yer-face all right.
The problem with implicit taxes on vice is that it disincentivizes the removal of the vice and incentivizes milking the vice.

I liked the idea of taxing remittance money back to Mexico & Central America, but that idea seems to have died... I like this one better and also like that it came from Cruz, I need to see some redeeming things from him after acting like the politicians I despise during the election.
To: Sub-Driver
Great idea. Mexico’s narco criminals pay for it.
