“Forty to sixty? Holy crap, I only carry 21 rounds, as a general rule.”
Mix your shots:
1) Always shoot the men closest to you since they are the first threat. This will send others running.
2) Shoot the largest ones you can see. These bigger “yutes” will be the ones alternately feared and relied on in a fight by the gang. When they go down others will flee.
3) Shout wildly while you’re shooting: “I’m going to send all of you to hell...” “I’ve got a bullet for each and every one of you...” “Time for a reload [then make it obvious you’re reloading]. I can shoot you bastards all day. Then I’m coming for your families and friends.”
4) Save the last few rounds just in case.
By this time they will have left the car.
Twenty-one rounds will cover it.
One more thing: Hope you don’t get a bleeding heart prosecutor.
Good tips for maximizing the effects. Those aren’t things I would normally think of.
A KY State Policeman friend of mine was alone at an African
American bar in Louisville trying to break up a fight. Supposedly, 20-25 folks had him surrounded. He pulled his service weapon and that didn’t back them off.
He said, “you are first, and you are second, and you are third”, as he looked around at no one in particular. Everyone thought they would be first, he guessed, and they all backed up.
Worth a try, I guess.
