With the emergence of Rupert Murdochs politically progressive son, James, in the leadership of his media empire and the unceremonious exits from Fox News of CEO Roger Ailes and now flagship anchor Bill OReilly, the cable-news powerhouses niche as an alternative to the left-leaning CNN, MSNBC and broadcast networks is suddenly in question.

I’ve got a new way to get TV news. Washington Journal on CSPAN weekday mornings is variable for its attitude. Some of the hosts are unslanted in their monitoring, others are DC slime. But it sure is interesting to listen to the callers. Some are brain-controlled idiots, for sure. But the majority? Even many who have speaking skills that makes one wonder about their formal education have much more interesting and insightful comments than almost all “newscasters” on other stations.
Fox totally on the dark side leaves an opening for MSNBC. Get rid of that Rachel thing and a few others and replace them with Deplorables and it’s doable.
I thought for the last few years Fox News was the highest rated cable news network until recent polls have shown the Maddow show was topping Megan Kelly’s show and now some of the other opposing shows. I’ve also heard that Fox would like to get rid of Hannity.
>>>Ailes is very ill.
Any further details you care to share?
Just what I heard from Mark Simone and Roger Friedman: he’s very ill and can barely walk. That’s it.
OAN (One American News) tends to repeat the same broadcast every hour for some time but they give out more news in one hour that the other alleged news channels, including Faux News, give out all day. Even Faux News, while the newscasters might be different, tends to rehash the same news items hour after hour ad nauseam .
He diddn’t, his Liberal son’s have.
I no longer watch Fox. Switched to OAN & Newsmax.
if the Murdoch family destroys fox a replacement will rise.....you can not control info.
And if some entrepreneurs decide to start a new cable news called say the Real News or something similar and hire away all FNC talent.....?
You can ask that about a host of things. Book publishing: People who refuse to publish conservative writers who are very popular and whose books sell well. Entertainment Industry: Refusing to recognize a huge swath of the country which will not spend money to support being lectured to on all things liberal and progressive; and, have their own values denigrated at the same time. Thus, losing money for years now.
I have shook my head over these terrible business decisions by these people; but, their politics override any business sense. It makes no sense; yet, it is the world we now live in.
More trannies and homosexuals reading news and sensationalizing everything?
I have finally stopped watching FNC altogether since they fired “Ted Baxter”. I can’t stand to watch those America-hating commie b*tches like Marie Harf, Maryann Marsh and that Marshall broad. They’re all braindead. They not only offend me but they insult my intelligence. I’ll be getting ALL of my news here from now on.
Maybe Murdoch Sr let these foolish sins choose their own poison.
He understands the media business inside and out. It would quickly climb to the top of the charts. He and Mark Burnett would clean up.
So Trump is the real competition for Fox if they decide to become another CNN.
Make that 2024, not 2014...
Nope, it comes in on my Direct TV without a problem. I have like one step above basic service as well. Might be an issue with your box.. I just found out they were on Direct TV 2 nights ago and have been switching over to them when Moron Shep smith comes on daily.
Where the audience would go is anyone's guess. Probably follow the talent. If they make the station more liberal, then the conservative hosts will need to go somewhere else.
They have bad audio. Sounds much different from other stations. The commercials sound fine, but the studio audio quality is unlistenable. Unfortunately.
