Becarra was born in Sacramento. His problem is not his
Hispanic heritage but his liberal politics.

He could have been born in Timbuktu.

He’s still Mexican. That’s his genetics, his heritage, his affiliation, his sympathies...his nationality.

If a Cherokee is born in Oklahoma, does that make him just another Sooner?

PS

I was born in the Old Pueblo...now called Tucson, which is not a Spanish word (it’s probably Tohono O’odham for “water at the foot of black mountain”) but lots of Mexicans like to claim Stukzon (er, Tucson) is theirs. Because the Mexican army put an outpost there in 1770-ish.

So what does that make me? Mexican, because at one point in history the Pope and the Spanish King claimed the land?

If geographic location of nativity is the only deciding factor and family heritage means nothing, guess I should get with the program and start paying La Mordida to the Alcalde. Like they do in Nogales....Sonora.

Sorry but I was born and raised as the 12th generation American I am. But physically closer to Mexico then Becerra. Yet I don’t think anyone would mistake my white Anglo-Saxon Protestant butt for anything remotely resembling a citizen of Old Mexico as they used to call it.

And since we left Europe 3 centuries ago I really ain’t got no other place to call home. So ‘murrican I am and ‘murrican I’ll always be.

And Becerra? He coulda been born in Seattle, not Sacramento, and he’d still be the ranting Mexican nationalist he will always be.

He has no business making or enforcing laws for the Americans. He doesn’t think America should exist and he’s never been one of us.
