Please do not patronize me. I’m not buying the quack science of the Singularity. Largely because it’s based on multiple theories and wishful thinking of some scientist. There is no real hard science to back it up. If one of these theories collapse, then the entire house of cards comes crumbling down.
Furthermore, consciousness and the soul are not one in the same. Often people sell the Singularity as if the two are the same thing. Consciousness operates at the neocortex of our brain. It is only 1 of three levels (R complex , limbic system) in our brain. Thus, discarding and replacing our R-Complex and Limbic system with wires and electricity will remove our humanity. Who we are today.
What is humanity? It’s not just Consciousness. It’s physical and emotional. Combine these two with Consciousness and you have humanity. There three make one. It’s ultimately about freedom, truth and love.
Yes we are an experiment being observed by God. We are here to learn love, and not to be tricked. To manually discard and remove 2/3 of who you are for longer life is not natural evolution but snake oil.
