Pro-life students at Wilfrid Laurier University say they will no longer be able to put up their pro-life flag display, with campus leaders explaining such exhibits are too traumatic after one last fall caused an uproar on the Canadian campus.

The display used 10,000 pink and blue flags to represent the 100,000 abortions each year in Canada.

Yet killing babies is not a unsafe environment? I really do not like these people. As I age....the not liking them gets worse and worse.

Just sent this to the LA Times look for it NOT to be published.

Re: Ann Coulter Vows to Speak and editorial First Amendment

For a few years a disturbing issue has emerged, that students in universities have a right to an intellectual safe space and to not be offended by speech with which they disagree. There are no such rights. There is the right to not attend or walk out if you choose, but not to stifle the free speech rights of the speaker and those who issued the invitation. Administrators and public officials have the responsibility to clearly explain this to the student populace, but few have done so.

At Cal, Janet Napolitano and Jerry Brown have surrendered to the domestic terrorists who set buildings on fire, overturn cars and smash windows. If they will not provide safety for those exercising their first amendment rights, as they have sworn to do, then it behooves the president to do so. There is precedent in Little Rock and Alabama, when presidents Eisenhower and Kennedy stepped up to ensure the rights of black students to attend public schools and colleges. This is an opportunity to teach Cal students and the administration an important lesson regarding the constitutional rights of their fellow citizens.

Exactly the solution and the precedent, long overdue.

The Left always applauded federal power like that, now let them feel it.

“Yet killing babies is not a unsafe environment?”

They should agree to kill their first-born to show their true sincerity.

The violent tactic looks to be successful. They create chaos and violence responding to your point of view and then you are censured for anything you might do cause any future incitement. Islamic terrorist would have a cake walk over here.

Not metaphorically, but in fact, we have reached a dystopian era when speaking out for life itself is considered subversive and a crime.

An irony lost on the university is that its namesake Wilfrid Laurier, perhaps Canada's greatest prime minster, was a determined and outspoken advocate for personal freedom and liberty. That was his passion. From Wikipedia:

[Wilfrid Laurier's] vision for Canada was a land of individual liberty and decentralized federalism. He passionately defended individual liberty, "Canada is free and freedom is its nationality," and "Nothing will prevent me from continuing my task of preserving at all cost our civil liberty."

Where has that Canada gone? Where is the Canada of Wilfrid Laurier?

What happened to free speech? Burning the US flag is so called free speech, so displaying another flag should also be protected free speech.

The Progressive Movement happened to free speech. Hypocrisy is one of their most cherished principles.
