NYT Reporter: Hannity could be next to go at Fox News due to “almost propaganda-like attitude”

During today’s Morning Joe discussion of the ouster of Bill O’Reilly at Fox News, Joe Scarborough asked, “Do they remake over the entire network? Is anybody else in the [Murdoch] family’s crosshairs right now?”

Replied New York Times reporter Jeremy Peters: “I think you have to look at somebody like Sean Hannity, and question whether or not his almost propaganda-like attitude and programming every night is going to be acceptable in the minds of the family, which is clearly trying to shift the network in a different direction.”

Socialism hasn't worked anywhere it has been tried. Yet it is still a magnet for so many.

Socialism works GREAT for the connected insiders. The Soviet Party inner-circle lived like nobility. That's WHY so many push it.

NYT Reporter: Hannity could be next to go at Fox News due to “almost propaganda-like attitude”

Then wouldn’t that mean that MSNBC would have to be taken of the air?

Just about the time I turned them off. I flip through once in a while during breaking news and I’m reminded why I quit.

Shep, Perino, Juan, Beckel...

I don't believe that Perino deserves to be tarred by being listed with those others. They are worse by an order of magnitude.

I think Sean wants to get out of New York, and I see him as maybe looking to replace Rush, when and if Rush ever retires.

FWIW, I think the timing of this so close to the EU’s approval of the Sky takeover deal rather let that cat outta the bag.

The uniparty is multinational.

I think Hannity could do what Glenn Beck did and start a new conservative site.

I don;t know what happened to Beck but I was rooting for him to make a media empire- and he seemed on his way, but then went nuts.

I would not put it past the government and/or Soros to be the cause of his health issues either.

Yet, the regular anchors on CNN and MSNBC were propagandists for Hillary

Yes, but that is the "correct" kind of propaganda. If the left approves, it isn't "propaganda", it is truth (no matter how untrue it might actually be). If the left disapproves, then it is propaganda (no matter how true it might actually be).

I saw this coming 5 years ago when FOX was taken over

Yes, I started noticing after the sons took over that the guests and "panel" members changed to people I had never seen before. All lefties.

Cavuto, and Varney would most likely quit.

Varney and Cavuto have shows on the Fox Business network; which, I believe, is run by Cavuto. Now, Neil has a show on the Fox News Network; but, Varney only appears occasionally as a guest on the FNC shows.

I don't watch FNC very much anymore. I watch Fox Business.

He will be let go because the Murdoch sons are liberals. FNC has been turning left for quite a while now and they can’t use the slogans we report, you decide and fair and balanced anymore. Aside from Hannity and Carlson they are a left of center Big government, Big Republican Party liberal network.

Hannity will be jettisoned and Carlson will be given the option, go back to being non-threatening and making your liberal guest look like fools or you will be gone.

FNC jumped the shark a while back and they are just now landing and getting Rupert’s leather jacket wet.

"O’Reilly had the best ratings of them all and he’s gone."

He certainly was popular, that's for sure. However, he did have the prime time slot. Tucker Carlson got higher ratings after Megyn Kelly left. Lets see if people were loyal to Oreilly or to Fox News. I think there may be a dropoff, but not that much. I think for Fox's image problems, it may be a smart idea to have a woman in one of those prime time slots and not a leggy blonde hottie. I truly think Maria Bartarome would be perfect. She's a good interviewer and I think would run a good show.

Martha McCallum is staying at the 7pm eastern time slot. I think she’s very good.

Yes, Tucker is moving to the 8 slot and the five is moving to the 9 slot. I thought they should keep the five at five. My preference would be for them to drop Beckel, I can’t stand him. I don’t mind Juan, but perhaps find another lefty to put on there when Juan is not on. In the 9 slot, I’d love to see Maria there. I really like watching her Sunday mornings, I think she would be good at 9.

“I get this. I don’t get why people believe this without any examples that it works, and so many examples of its absolute failure.”

Well....they always go to the default option, sort of....
“It works in Denmark”! or Norway”!
Small, and (up until very recently), single ethnicity Nordic cultures with a good work ethic, and a heavy dosage of North Sea oil money, to prop up their economies, while enjoying NATO protection.
The left allows itself to use these examples of “working”, while not affording us critics, the examples of Cuba, Venezuela, Soviet Union, Communist China....shall we go on?

Socialism “works” with small single minded populations, without much outside influence. In other words, it barely and rarely functions, and only under unique circumstances.
