That pretty much is the bottom line, and all we ever needed to do. Instead we spent trillions, killed countless people, lost thousands of soldiers, had tens of thousands more come back less than intact, and imposed an Orwellian total surveillance state that is easily leveraged to private ends... one that depends on the continual, and perpetual threat of terrorism to justify its existence.
