'Barghouti is not a prisoner'
Arutz Sheva ^

Posted on 04/17/2017 3:12:56 PM PDT by Eleutheria5

Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely (Likud) responded on Monday night to the publication of Marwan Barghouti's article in The New York Times:

"Barghouti is not a prisoner," Hotovely said. "He is a convicted murderer and a terrorist.

"The New York Times has provided a platform to a terrorist without noting the fact that he planned and carried out the cold blooded murder of Jews simply for having been Jews.

"This is not a matter of freedom of speech. It is anarchy. When a major newspaper with a reputation for responsible journalism becomes a platform for murderers, it provides legitimacy for terrorism. This is a very disappointing decision by the editors which seriously undermines the credibility of The New York Times."

Death is the ultimate punch line. In its face, you either laugh or despair. Despairing is pretty useless, so I prefer to laugh with the victims, who are in a better place one would hope.

This past weekend, Christians celebrated a holiday asserting that God got the joke on death.

Rudyard Kipling, during the siege of Mafeking in the Boer War, used to call his newspaper The Lyre, because the man knew how to joke.

Maybe it was an allusion to the harps of ancient Israel? And Kipling was quite the poet. Song was a way of keeping evil at bay.

Presumably the Lyre told the truth....

I like Christians more, now that they behave nicer. If only they’d behave a little worse towards rapists, murderers and oppressors.

Baden Powell wouldn’t let him. Said it would be bad for morale to tell the truth.

But yes, all go to judgment alike, and this mortal coil remains just that: mortal. Nobody expects it to be anything else, leastwise myself.

Those who gave themselves adamantly to evil will suffer the consequences. Those who let the Lord redeem them from evil will see a reward.

So I mourn when I see evil, and sometimes I burn with anger when I can actually do something, but I don’t give up the ship. And I get wry where necessary. Hotovely seems to be taking things a bit TOO seriously. Calm down, God never left the throne. The bible promises are, as always, the bible promises. Right now America seems to be in a process of trial, of showdown and separation between good and evil.

Giving a terrorist an uncommented audience isn’t a Christian thing.

However, attempting to pitch redeeming gospel to a mixed audience IS a Christian thing, and if Jews don’t like it, tough.

Well said. I bet my money on good triumphing over evil. Evil people have more fun, if you enjoy that sort of thing, but good people make life worthwhile and win in the end.

Must not have ever read the rag or noticed what paper their fish was wrapped in before making that comment.

NY Times has a watered down update:
Editors’ Note: April 17, 2017

This article explained the writer’s prison sentence but neglected to provide sufficient context by stating the offenses of which he was convicted. They were five counts of murder and membership in a terrorist organization. Mr. Barghouti declined to offer a defense at his trial and refused to recognize the Israeli court’s jurisdiction and legitimacy.

If I were in charge, I would poison the hunger strikers' water to hasten the inevitable.

What those creeps really wanted to do was build him up. Martin Luther King went to jail. Nelson Mandella went to jail. Therefore, Marwan Barghouti went to jail as a prisoner of “conscience,” because he refused to recognize the Israeli court’s power over him.

So let’s see what his “conscience” has to say.

Why We Can’t Wait.

I write this from a Be’er Sheva jail run by the Zionist occupiers. Many have asked me why I encourage the murder of Jewish children? Why not at least aim at soldiers or government officials, who are actually guilty of overt acts oppressing Palestinians. Here is my answer. We can’t wait for the little nippers to grow up. In First grade, they take their first Judo lessons, and by the time they’re teenagers, they’re already learning the basic elements of Krav Mega. Then at age 18, they go into the army and learn to shoot and perfect their skills at hand-to-hand combat. Once their basic training is over, it’s too late, and they carry guns with a two magazines of live ammo, grenades and other military hardware. That is why we couldn’t wait. We had to shoot a little girl in her stroller. It’s fortuitous that the bullet passed through her tiny six-month-old body and also injured her father, but six-month-olds are the real enemy. We can’t wait for them to grow up. By then they’ll be all too capable of fighting back. We must kill them in their mother’s womb, if possible. This is all the fault of the Joooos! If they hadn’t started fighting back effectively, instead of begging for mercy while we laughed, as they’re supposed to, we would have been able to at least wait until their bar mitzvah before opening fire.

Sincerely,

Marwan Barghouti

Hotovely is an Israeli lady and member of Knesset, I’ll have you know. So the proper address is “boker tov, gaveret!” (Good morning, Madame.)

True, and I guess the NYT is still a major newspaper, though the repuration for responsible journalism is questionable. They're a political organ, and Israel is on the wrong side. Thus Barghouti is a "prisoner", implication "political prisoner"
