Another journalist is gunned down in Mexico — the fourth in just six weeks

Another journalist has been killed in Mexico — the fourth in just six weeks.

Authorities said reporter Maximino Rodriguez Palacios was shot dead outside of a shopping center Friday in La Paz, a coastal city in the state of Baja California Sur.

Rodriguez, 72, wrote about politics and crime for a news organization called the Pericu Collective. He had previously worked as a spokesman for the state attorney general’s office.

Friday’s shooting is the latest in a string of violent attacks on journalists in Mexico that has claimed four lives since March 2 and has left several others wounded. The attacks have drawn condemnation from human rights advocates, with the Committee to Protect Journalists calling the situation in Mexico a “crisis” of freedom of expression.

Workplace related violence?

Has Obama said it was their own damned fault as he did when he blamed the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists for their slaughter?

Does the LA Times think we should provide the murder a sanctuary city?

There is a good reason people shouldn’t be allowed to just cross our borders without us knowing who they are and why they’re here.

Trump is trying hard to get American news anchors to go down and "cover" the story...

Manuel Buendia was a prominent journo gunned down in the ‘80s down there. This stuff has gone on for a long time except now it’s accelerated, on steroids.

On the contrary, Americans desperately need to know about this.

That is why we need to send Megyn Kelly, Geraldo Rivera, Shep Smith...

What in the world are you people on this thread talking about? This is a Mexican journalist in Mexico. These journalists get shot because they are working to expose the corruption down there, oftentimes how the cartels have bought half the government. This is what actual journalism is about. Geez. Just because our journalists are a bunch of queers and communists, no need to disparage the ones in the rest of the world risking their lives to do their jobs.

The Mexican government is evil. They have instituted many massacres over the years.

But the average American knows diddly squat about Mexico.
