Hmmmm. I read someplace else this morning that the GOP "managed to eke out a win" in this race. Guess it's new math when 8% is ekeing out a win. Reading some of the piece it sure sounds like the GOP is in trouble for 2018. Support your locals to keep the house and senate.

I’m sure the formerly-apathetic non-voters who turned out for Trump participated heavily in this election

Considering that in November Pompeo racked up a 31 point win then this is eking. But it’s a special election, turnout was far less than half of what it was in November, there are any number of explanations of why it was closer and none of them should indicate a trend.

Yeah, I got that part about Pompeo and the 31 points. But, we’ll take it.

8% is a decisive win, no matter what the MSM says.

Note to the media commentators minimizing the win:

This was a special election. Turnout was lower. Change the election to the next national election and turnout will be higher. My bet is the GOP margin will be higher too.

Not to quibble, but I'm going to. Headline says he won by 8%, yet, using the writer's gubment education, the article says he won by 7. New math....

If you take an honest look at this election, it is not good news other than we won.

Look at what the last Republican won his election by and ask yourself why so many of the base stayed home and what happens in districts where the races are much closer and this many of the base stay home. Now take an honest look at the liberal direction of Trump in the last few weeks and talking down to conservatives being the problem and ask yourself why anyone would think your loyal base would not show up for a party that has decided they are the problem.

The stupid party can learn something from this election or they can do what they usually do and continue in the wrong direction and lose all those close districts in the coming years. I am betting on the losing.

And if the Democrats really think they came within a margin of winning then they could be fooling themselves too. You can't draw any conclusions from a special election.

I will say that if Congress passes Trumpcare and the President follows through with his 21% cut in the Ag Department budget then 2018 could be pretty interesting in Kansas 4th.

I heard that line on Fox news.

And....folks...this so called “eked out” win was an eight point victory margin. If this the best the democrat scum & vermin can do with their base all fired up...I would say that the 2018 Mid-term elections will be the destruction of the Democrat “Obama” USA traitor party politically!!! Luv it!!

Now all you excellent ,dedicated Trumpster voters in the great state of Georgia....take care of business in your upcoming special House race!!! Politically destroy the entire Democrat Party!!! Turnout and support POTUS, Donald J. Trump...enmasse!!! Remember any vote cast for any Democrat, is a vote to destroy this great nation....America, the USA!!!

This was NOT the referendum on Trump that the LSM is trying so hard to spin. What it probably shows, after all the normal special election factors are included, is that the GOP brand is not liked particularly.

The GOP candidate, Estes, was an establishment GOPer who was well known to the voters because he had been State Treasurer. There have been new taxes in Kansas that he supported along with Gov. Brownback with whom he was associated. That was plenty to make any support only luke warm.

But with a slimmer margin than expected.

What is needed is a positive win in GA.

This is true but still, I don’t like the sight of a 20 point drop. Kansas 4th has been a blowout win for the Rs for a while now.

We’ll just have to see what happens in the Georgia 6th next week (or more likely the eventual run-off in June).

Bu, bu, bu, but. It was the Russsians that tipped the balance. Putin came to Kansas and personally counted those votes.
It’s not the fault of the corruption in the Progressive Marxist Democrat Party, or the Obama legacy that was a complete failure both in domestic and foreign policy. LOL

In MSM-speak, an 8 point victory by a Republican is “eked out a win”.

Estes/Trump!
