I’m against congress voting on this as there are enough neocons and lefties (can you believe it, working together) that it could potentially end up cornering Trump.

It would be a great strategy. Let Congress and Schumer and McCain push for war. Trump knows that many will oppose it, and Congress would likely defeat the motion. Show them all as hypocrites, and Trump gets what he wants.
