>>We might see two more new chief justices while President Trump holds office..

There’s nothing magical about 9 SCOTUS judges.. Once the “Reid rule” is invoked, Trump COULD nominate 2 more to bring the number up to 11. Just to rub the Dhimmis’ noses in it. Then another 2 once Ginsberg and Breyer resign..

GOP will cave... bet on it. The next SC Justice to get confirmed will probably be Michelle Obama.

Gorsuch will be confirmed.

I haven’t been following this closely but I doubt it would be
brought to a vote is there wasn’t the 51 needed to confirm. JMO.

Both McCain and Murkowski announced they’d support the nuclear option.

What a mess. The ability of the Senate to pass good legislation will be damaged for years. But it all falls on the Dems and Chuck Schumer in particular.

-- I must say I'm surprised the dem0crats are making such a huge tactical error. --

They must see it as some sort of reverse tit-for-tat. Now both sides have "nuked" a dysfunctional part of Senate procedure, so any future "nuking" is less likely. Certainly by the GOP. This was inevitable, might as well get it out of the way, and they can use the "bullies in the GOP are responsible for this" narrative starting today.

Did McCain actually announce he’s not voting for the Constitutional option?

They'll probably vote to take a six month vacation.

Repeal the 17th Amendment!

The framers had it right. Republicans control 32 state legislatures whose voice needs to be heard on SCOTUS.

Does McCain ever announce he is stabbing the party in the back before he does it?

There will be several more vacancies Trump will fill and now they can be whoever he thinks will get 51.

Let's hope that number is higher after the 2018 mid-term elections.

While I have absolutely no faith in the Republican party, particularly the Turtle, I think they have also positioned themselves where there is no wiggle room for them to back down as they usually do.

I think Trump’s presence in the WH has put a *little*, only a little, spine in them.
