An outside Leftist agitator was able to file dozens of charges against Palin. ALL of the charges were baseless ... but because of the way the state's ethics process was set up, all charges had to be investigated. And Palin had to defend herself and pay her attorneys out of her own pocket.
For a family of relatively modest means like the Palins, this was crippling. That I understand is why she resigned the governorship.

I am going to play devil’s advocate here. I think the committee or Administration have the goods on Rice and probably others. Nunes is taking the arrow to remove any appearance of impropriety when the truth emerges.
